Everyone knows of Jeff Gannon now. He's the chap who wanted leave a sordid sexual past behind him and become a reporter. Fine and dandy, except that it turned out he was pro-Bush. We can't have that in the White House Press Corps, can we? So the left-wing (a.k.a. mainstream) media set out to destroy the fellow. PowerLine recounts the whole dismal story here.
The presence of a Bush-friendly journalist in the White House press corps was taken by the left as a deep affront. A study conducted a few years ago found that the White House press corps is 90% Democratic; apparently the left wont be satisfied until the figure is 100%. So liberals began investigating Gannon. They found that he was a homosexual and started posting photos of him on their web sites, along with vicious personal attacks. Gannon, stunned by the virulence of the lefts attack on him, quit his job at Talon. Subsequently, a low-life named John Aravosis who is a gay activist and has a web site, found nude photos of Gannon and posted them online.
It didn't end there. For their pains, the chaps at PowerLine report, they've been inundated with emails dripping with "venom and irrational hatred." Here's one that they received today:
I guess you "holier-than-thou moral values conservatives" don't have a problem with gay male prostitutes who pose as conservative reporters as long as they are republican, huh? Hypocrites. If there is a god, you hypocrites are all going to hell. (I don't think God will forgive you, even if you ARE republican.)Nice, eh? The author comments that "I'd like to believe that there is some kind of a respectable left in this country, but where is it?" Where indeed. Maybe Ward Churchill can help.
Any respectable left in the left, left.
what do you expect from children
Is this their "scalping?" The head of CNN and Dan freaking Rather, vs. some guy no one's heard of that ran a gay escort site?
Lefties are so cute sometimes. "Behold! The Head of Jeff Gannon! P|-|34r our l33t pOwErs!"
Hey when you are being "no-hit" for 8-2/3rds innings, a bloop single looks awfully good.
How Gertrude Stein-esque!
Why thank you!
