Mary Anastasia O'Grady is about the only writer in the US who understands what is happening in Latin American and the Spanish speaking world.
She doesn't get posted often enough here on FR because of the posting restrictions of the WSJ, and I don't think she's as well known as her expertise and good writing merit. But it's truly bad news if Chavez is trying to silence her.
Who can we talk to about this? The WSJ? State?
How are they going after her? I see Chavez is funding his spin masters but I'm not sure what he is getting for his money...
Still, its weird that a national government would be going after an individual columnist. They could devote themselves to actually refuting what she says, but obviously they've figured out that is a losing strategy.

This is their website. I would be interested in seeing alternative views of what they say here in terms of their social programs. Is there any evidence that these programs are not taking place?
