"1. I started with JFK, whom I admired and feared. I thought him a capable well educated man with our best interests at heart, but I feared his being too lenient with Cubans, Russians and feared he would give the whole country away just to avoid some war or conflict "

Outside of maybe Regan JFK was one of the most staunchly anticommunist Americans the world has ever known. He tried to invade Cuba, remember? That little Vietnam thing was his idea too. I think you need some JFK education.

Sorry I strongly disagree. I feel it was Allan Dulles who masterminded the Bay of Pigs (invasion of Cuba), while JFK weaseled out when he should have provided air cover. I also think that he wanted to aid the French which is what got us into Viet-Nam not the desire to confront communist spread, it was LBJ who first said: "we shall continue to oppose the spread of communism in Asia" - I'm afraid you bought into the superficial view of those presidents.

You hold a doctorate and you find the writings of Clinton (him) to be impressive? You need to get out more. If you want competent Presidential writings that have both facts and integrity behind them, try Teddy Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson and the like.

The conflict within our culture is more basic than you surmise. It is between those who understand the genius of America which got us to where we are today, and want to preserve that on one side -- and those who do not understand America, reject its politics and society, and want to destroy that. And the clearest dividing line between the two is respect, or lack of respect, for the US Constitution.

You have to dig some to differentiate the sides, because both sides claim to respect the Constitution. Look for which side believes that judges must obey the Constitution against that which believes that judges should alter the Constitution whenever it gets in the way of their political plans.

BTW, quite a few people here have doctorates. Most of us consider it tacky to state that in front of God and everybody.

I think you're right. And I also am starting to doubt the purported credentials of our little PhD-wannabe n00b here.

"our greater steaks are within the leader of the country

I know a number of PhDs and don't know any that write the way this person does. Our greater "steaks?" I can only presume that we are talking about T-bones or Rib-Eyes here.

Color me skeptical.
