Despite the positions I've taken in a past thread on this flag, a General Lee without a Confederate Flag would be like, well, Daisy Duke without a large rack. It just wouldn't be right.

Gretchen Wilson recently turned down the opportunity to star in the upcoming feature film, the Dukes Of Hazzard. The "Redneck Woman" was approached about playing a sheriff who arrests Daisy Duke, played by Jessica Simpson. Wilson had to pass on the offer, however, due to her busy schedule, according to the Tennessean.
In the meantime, Wilson gears up to perform at the Super Bowl with country legend Charlie Daniels.
The singer was also recently added to the list of Grammy Awards performers. Wilson will join Keith Urban and members of Lynyrd Skynyrd in a tribute to Southern Rock.

But rest assured: The original cast is angry and resentful at being ignored by the new production, a racy multi-million dollar, sure-to-be-blockbuster film starring reality TV starlet Jessica Simpson and stoner/slacker icons Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott. And no one is more bent out of shape about it than Cooter.
Over a late lunch of jambalaya and gumbo at the New Orleans Centre food court -- between congenial and cheery autograph sessions at the car show -- he lets it fly.
"You ask me if I'm bitter?" he says. "Bitter isn't the word."
He pauses for a slurp of gumbo and dramatic effect.
"Pissed-off is the word."

"NEWT BEATS COOTER is a headline only a Red State reader could love, but that's the way it went down."
Didn't you want to be the General Lee?
I want one. I've already let my mother know that her Infiniti will be parked on the street and my General Lee resting comfortably in the garage.

I just can't get used to her being Daisy Duke. Just can't. Why does she look so much better in that pic and look so skin and bones in the other?
My sensibility isn't different. What's different is the attacks by the NAALCP since the early 90s bringing this 'important subject' to the forefront every chance they get. One wonders just how useful the NAALCP would be if they continued their original mission instead of attacking others' heritage. Sorry to hear Gretchen Wilson isn't going to be in it though. Funny sidenote, watched the original series first season on DVD a few weeks back. Whew! All I'll say is my memories of Katherine Bach are a lot different than how it looked this time...
She did go on a diet to lose weight for the role. personally, I thought she looked great as she was. But maybe it was just a bad pic. It happens. Lighting, angle, etc.
