They don't have the coffee shops to go to in many small towns anymore. They probably wouldn't be caught dead in a Starbucks. They don't get together like they used to to talk about the issues that concern their daily lives.
Have any of these people ever been to a small town...There is always some place where people gather..It may not be called a "coffee shop" but it's the same thing.

Despite their mental image of themselves and Charbucks, in most Starbucks there isn't a lot of concversation going on.
It is mostly yuppies on their laptops. Most Starbucks I have seen are silent as a cemetary.
