Can We Win A Politically Correct War On Terror?

Posted on 02/04/2005 3:12:21 PM PST by GunnyBob

Can we really hope to win the War on Terror if we are forced to fight it while being politically correct?

Lieutenant General James Mattis USMC on war: “It’s a hell of a hoot. It’s fun to shoot some people.” Now he has been “counseled” by the Commandant of the Marine Corps. The media picked this up and some within it are trying to make him look like he is deranged.

Ward Churchill is defended by the Denver Post's resident leftist shills, Reggie Rivers, Diane Carman and Jim Spencer, although they decry his words they say he has every right to say them, despite those words being treasonous during time of war (punishable by death under US Code, Title 18, Section 2381).

The Israel cabinet has approved an end to targeted killings (assassinations) of terrorists.

US lawyers hired by some Iraqis have filed a complaint in Germany against Donald Rumsfeld for war crimes. Rumsfeld says he may not attend next week’s security conference in Munich because he could be arrested there under the complaint, which is in the hands of a German court. If Rumsfeld goes to Germany and is arrested, what should the US response be?

Anti-WoT orgs, the leftist media and certain self-proclaimed journalism ethics experts are decrying DoD websites that reflect positively on the US and the WoT, saying it is all propaganda. Now Lawrence Di Rita, deputy assistant secretary of defense for public affairs, has ordered a study of those websites. Has he succumbed to pressure to be PC?

Wild-eyed pundits like Ron Reagan Jr. scream about Abu Ghraib prisoners being “tortured,” when in fact they were not, and he is demanding that terrorists be equal to law-abiding, genuine military personnel under the Geneva Conventions. Many Americans agree with him. Do you? Is Reagan just being PC? I debated little Ron on this last week on MSNBC.

Snipers working for drug smugglers and illegal-alien smugglers are now routinely trying to kill Border Patrol agents in the US by shooting across the border at them. We have done nothing in response. Should we use the US military to establish a buffer zone inside Mexico to stop these murder attempts? Should we use government snipers to shoot back? Or would doing so be politically incorrect?

Warm up the TF-33s on the BUFFs.

Not at this time and Yes, certainly. However most of our best military snipers are otherwise occupied at the moment. Police snipers aren't really trained or equipped for that sort of long range shooting. However the .50 caliber militia is available for duty, save in California perhaps. Have at it boys and girls.

The answer to the last question about government snipers is H*LL YEAH! That's what I think Gunny!

There is no room for Political correctness in warfare. I shudder to think what form of government we'd be under now if PC had been in force during WW2.

in the morning, I heard Laura Ingrahm commenting on this. I knew she was wrong, and I was confirmed when Ed Schultz said the same thing later that day...political correctness is the bane of clear thought.

We would have lost every war in history if we were PC at the time. Damn the liberals, full speed ahead!

Greetings...I'm a newbie here but I had to stop for a second and reply to your post. Lieutenant General James Mattis USMC on war: “It’s a hell of a hoot. When is this left wing muckraking machine we call the press ever going to shut up?!? The nutty professor is hailed as a almost a hero and a general who has (no less than 3 times) placed his own self in harms way to fight the Islamist monsters trying to destroy half the world (almost the other half already exists under Islamic oppression) is billed as a villain? Utter PC Garbage...
