I imagine that there have always been loonys like this in America but I find it hard to imagine anyone in 1942 siding with Hitler and Tojo.

Can you imagine claiming Pearl Harbor was a trick by FDR to consolidate his dictatorial grip on the US or that we leave Normandy after the landings? How about insisting that we impeach FDR because Americans failed to take prisoners on Tarawa?

The DU is like a sewer full of filthy rats that'll bite the hand that feeds and protects them.

There's the real rub of the matter - the only reason they're allowed to be idiots is because conservative policies save their sorry arses. Without a strong military, robust economic policies, and laws that punish criminals adequately, they wouldn't have the liberty, economic opportunity or safety in order to be petulant little bastards.

Liberty's downside, really. Some people will use their freedom to be worthless ingrates.

Big difference. Bush is a Republican. FDR was a Democrat. Makes all the difference in the world to them.

Don't look now but that has been claimed.

Something that is overlooked when talking about WWII is that the government did indeed censor the media during that time. GWB has never attempted to infringe on civil liberties the way FDR did.
