Im probably the 10000000000000th person to ask this, but.. Has the admin ever thought about adding the ability for people to edit there own posts? I have run in to many occasions when I needed to edit a post.
Also, have they thought about adding a ezboard type message board section to freerepublic? Or is this all about 1996 old school internet? If it is, its cool.. I would personally love to log into a freerepublic BBS at 300 baud if I could
I guess you shouldnt fix whats not broken but I really think someone should add an edit feature, maybe a signature? Maybe you can restrict it to people that donate only?
Just some suggestions.
wouldnt an edit button be easier?
I think it's a bad idea. If you get into a debate and find out you are losing, editing one of your replies could make the other person unfairly look bad.
I don't like your idea.
Your lamebrain tag line is misspelled. Please correct so others don't mistake you for a dolt. May heaven forfend.
I did that for a reason, to show sometimes people need to edit there posts.
I agree with you on that point, but the mods can add a time frame... say 5 to 10 mins, then the post cant be edited.
Nah. We're all growed up. If'n we caint git are posts whrit tha ferst tyme, well, so much tha bet'r thah' tha rest 'kin snik'r.
You're the second poster in as many days
to cite FR as a 1996 site.
Personally, I like FR as it is.
NO editing of posted comments.
Delettion by mods or correct in your next post.
Moderators cannot edit replies.
I'm with you, lady. ;O)
Take the time to preview it before you post it and you will be just fine. Unless of course if you're drinking then all bets are off.
Nothing new there, honnay. :)
Well 1996 is really when the internet took hold. Before that we were looking at text with very little graphics. Its was all about Gopher and Archy. I was on the internet in 1989.. but it was a crappy text based version via a Rutgers (back then it was hot though).. 1996 really was the year it was born for the average person.
They can pull them though, that is a type of edit no?
I'm slow.
I didn't get computerized til '98...lol.
Deleting changes what is said so that your position looks better. I think Clinton and Sandy Burglar call that legacy building.
If you want to edit a post, you should just respond to your own post in a timely fashion, and let everyone know that the new post is an edit of the previous. No Do-Overs at FR...JFK
