We warned you; some of you didn't believe us. We told you that on or about January 26, UN Undersecretary General and Disaster Relief Coordinator Jan "Stingy" Egeland would hold a press event to boast of what the UN has done on tsunami relief over the past month since the December 26 disaster. He did...

Keep reading...this is too good to miss! With breathtaking audacity the U.N. not only takes credit for what the U.S. and others have done...they DOWNPLAY our roles!
DIPLOMAD
(For some reason the system wouldn't let me post a blog url?)
Well, if it makes you feel any better, they're probably having another bad hair day over at the UN thanks to Jonathan Hunt's report on FNC today. Paul Volker has a Thornburg problem.
bttt.
LOL!
Timeout, this ended up in Bloggers & Personal. Do Diplomad articles go there from now on?
I have no idea. There seems to be some "rule" about blogs, but I don't know how to look up FR's rules.
Hope they don't flame me!
Well, I don't know the rules, either. And I'm sure you won't get flamed. I'm just wondering if this doesn't also qualify as News/Current Events, and if it wouldn't be seen more there? How would you feel about pinging a mod?
Admin Moderator:
I posted this thread in Misc. but it got changed to Blogs.
Mewzilla and I are wondering what the rules are about posting from blog sites.
Seems to me an incredible amount of news is broken these days on blogs. So does it make sense that we can't post that news in the regular threads?
I haven't tried it recently, but attempts to post articles from known blogging domains such as BlogSpot in "News and Current Events" used to result in FR telling you that they had to go in the "Bloggers" category. Personally, if I'm posting something that's clearly news/current events that comes from a blogger who has his own domain (such as Instapundit.com), I do put it in "News and Current Events". Many bloggers are now legitimate news sources/consolidators and should be treated that way, IMO. I'd sure like to see the "known blog domain" restrictions lifted for those bloggers, Diplomad being an excellent example.
This diplomad character is a hoot and a hero. I suspect the dissed are searching diligently for this disher of delicious dirt.
Oh, and about this thread being included in News/Current Events - I second (third actually) that!
I like the sound of that.
Wait.
Make it "Disher of Delicious Diplomatic Dirt"!
You'll note that I tried to get around the domain restriction by not posting the URL until the body of the thread. Didn't work. Somebody or something caught what I was doing and dumped it back in the blogger category. It's frustrating. DIPLOMAD is among the best reads on the internet!
One thing that might work is to use one of the forwarding services like tinyurl.com or makeashorterlink.com. Probably against the rules, though, so there might be a penalty exacted if you did that.
I just don't see why it should be necessary to jump thru all those hoops. Why can't blog sources be used? That's the question.
Just checking in :)
Jim wants posts from this site in the bloggers forum.
Thanks.
By "this site" do you mean Diplomad or the blog site?
I'm just trying to understand the rules. THx.
Glad to see you posted Diplomad's latest. This inside info needs to bet out to as many sites as possible. Suggest we start sending it to as many media sites as possible.
