As if we needed any more evidence of liberal media bias on the part of CBS, the senior political editor for CBS News, Dotty Lynch, has written a column arguing that convicted killer Scott Peterson should be allowed to live the rest of his life at taxpayer expense in a California prison because he may not really be guilty of murdering his wife and unborn son. He's no Timothy McVeigh, she argued, referring to the Oklahoma City bomber.
The most damaging evidence was found in Peterson's car when he was arrested about 30 miles from the Mexican border. Court TV noted that the final prosecution witness, Modesto police detective Jon Buehler, said the car was packed with survival gear, including a water purifier, axe, saw, snorkel mask, several changes of clothes, and knives. Buehler said that Peterson was carrying $14,932 in cash, Mexican currency, his brother's driver's license, and charge cards in the names of his mother and sister.
It certainly looked like Peterson was fleeing from something and that he was preparing for life as a fugitive. Peterson didn't take the stand to tell us what he was fleeing from. Dotty Lynch apparently thinks there may be an innocent explanation for all of this. If there is, she didn't provide it, either. Evidence seems to be in short supply at CBS these days.

I love these 'Pundits' who recite the case, chapter and verse, and render their judgment. The only problem with this second guessing is THEY WEREN'T AT THE TRIAL and did not hear or see everything that went into the Jury's verdict and sentencing recommendation.
Oh ... I forgot, this is a SeeBS'r and the existence of facts is a mere formality standing in the way of their opinion.

"Let him live under the jail.."
From all the evidence I've seen on the case, I don't see how they came back with the guilty verdict, let alone the death penalty. Sorry Folks, the evidence just isn't there.

To be honest, life in prison without parole is generally cheaper for the taxpayer than the death penalty these days. This is particularly true in states like California that rarely proceed with executions as it is, but is even so in states like Texas which are not.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the death penalty in generap and specifically for Scott Peterson, but the argument the old "at taxpayer's expense" line ain't gonna cut it.

I am in favor of the death penalty..but, FYI the argument about letting him live forever at taxpayer's expense doesn't hold water...Figure it costs Cal $60k/year to incarcerate SP..Give him 50 years life expectancy, that's being generous.. total cost is 3 million..present value $1.8 million. The cost of endless death penalty appeals...the whole California circus..will easily exceed $5 million over the next 20 years..

BTW, would you sign this legally binding document that states you will reimburse the state of CA for all costs associated with keeping Scott Peterson alive - in prison - for the rest of his natural life?

I'm all for life as long as it's spent in a maximum security prison under rigorous conditions. Anything less would probably be bearble. (Remember Speck and his Dope Paries in Prison?)

SeeBS has no credibility or standards and their opinions are not worthy of consideration. They don't act like a reputable news organization so why should we consider them one ? they are more like a televised supermarket tabloid.

I'm against capitol punishment in cases where a person is convicted by a jury of his peers. My reason is, that as a former jury foreman, that there is not enough collective intelligence on the average jury to order lunch - much less determine guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Remember that half of the people in this country are below average intelligence. Those that end up on a jury are on the low end of that scale.
It's not uncommon for one or two people on the jury to pretty much do the thinking for the group. (no different than what you might see in meetings at work)

The best thing we can do for women in this country is to kill Scott Peterson ASAP!
To every single man who thinks that killing his wife would be easier than a divorce - see you on Death Row.
I pray they put an express lane into California's Death Row for Scott Peterson!

Have you seen all the evidence? If not, then how can you say the evidence just isn't there? From what I saw, there is no doubt in my mind that he is guilty. More than 12 jurers also thought the same.

"Have you seen all the evidence?... and More than 12 jurers also thought the same."
There is an appeal in the process, first for poor representation. I saw all the evidence that was released after the trial and a hair on the plyers doesn't cut it, that could have fallen off Scott's clothing. Cement anchors doesn't cut it, many people make cement anchors, don't base everything on the Court TV commentators. Lying doesn't cut it, we elect them to public office all the time. Affairs don't cut it, a president was recently impeached for it.
Now what did you see that made you so positive of his guilt?
