WINSOME BUT FIRM: In "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King", Gandalf says at one point, "things have been put in motion now that can not be stopped...". He was referring to the negative aspects of Sauron the evil eye.

Today on capitol hill it appears that Democrats have become as resigned as Gandalf. Only instead of the "end of middle earth"...they are all despairing about the Bush second term.

It is showing in how they are handling the Bush nominees. Today's victim of rage: Condaleeza Rice.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee took particular delight in hammering at the War On Terror, and in painting an even more blackened and sullied picture of America's relationship with allies.

Rice's message (as always) was clear.

"(I will) work to mend and strengthen ties with allies frayed by the war in Iraq...the time for diplomacy is now," she told senators.

Delware Sen. Joe Biden felt it necessary to bite back.

"The time for diplomacy is long overdue," retorted Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, the senior Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He told her the United States is "paying a heavy price" for the administration's policy in Iraq.

There has been no mention in the early reports yet today if "Brickhead" Barbara Boxer was still planning to follow through on her threat to "hold Rice accountable" for supposed wrong doing in the War On Terror.

And when it came to the War On Terror Rice allowed herself to not be misunderstood or misquoted saying the stakes could not be higher.

"As long as the broader Middle East remains a region of tyranny and despair and anger, it will produce extremists and movements that threaten the safety of Americans and our friends," she said.

I am grateful that she understands this basic fundamental and can continue to articulate it to people like Boxer and Biden who continue to parade around as though terrorism is a figment of the Bush Administration's imagination.

"And Boxer? She is an embarrassment to California"

How so?

She epitomizes the essence of California liberals -we should make sure she stays in public view - to remind us how bad it could be in the RED COUNTIES if she happened to us.

Looks like Dr. Rice is soring like an eagle even though she is surrounded by a bunch of turkeys.

The intellectual divide and separation among the questioners and the answers provided by Dr. Rice were able to demonstrate they are so far out of her league, it was their good fortune that she didn't laugh in their faces at some of the dialogue.

I couldn't agree with you more. The woman is so intelligent and articulate that they are out of HER league.
Can you imagine what she'll be able to do for pro football?
Then, the NFL will finally get back some of the class it has
lost recently.

I wonder what the NOW feminazis think of Dr. Rice.

Not that I care, but it is a fun thought to realize they
are finally seeing the place in the sun a woman can dedicate herself to and still be down to earth, fun and
passionate about her country.

She has so many positives, I hope the scribes in our time write many wonderful stories about her life and professions as she has so many facets - like a beautiful jewel.

"Why do these guys give half hour speeches before they get around to any questions"

Right! Then they complain that they are out of time before asking all their questions.

Politicians are a different breed.

I wish she had a softer/new hairstyle.

Generally speaking, African hair is often very difficult to style especially with straightening. Dr. Rice probably has the beststyle her particular hair will handle and she isn't the kind to get hair extensions which many black women will do. This information is from my African friend because I asked her about Dr. Rice's hair myself. Also the hair doesn't grow as quickly as caucasian hair and is very soft and fragile.

Now let's talk Boxer's hair. The "hag" effect - and she had no excuse right? Probably paid large dollars to get that cut from a hair stylist who dislikes her as much as I do.

Has anyone e-mailed the California witch? Think I will today - no hurry because she'll probably be gone from her duties for days. They only work one day a week don't they?

Condi should get her statements straight. Then Boxer wouldn't have ammunition.
