The left is only doing what they always do. They speak as if there were some vast hippie uprising when it was really a vocal few and a lot of followers who were only there to get high.
As a kid growing up in rural America I didn't see many hippies because they didn't exist here. Then as now, they were in the cities overestimating thier numbers and thinking they were superior.
You nailed it. What concerns me is that the younger DU's will believe the slop put out by the older hippies and once again our country will be set back. IMO our current social problems and lack of morality, yes, I AM going to use that word, can all be traced back to that time. And, for any DU's that might be reading this: by lack of morality I am referring to the severe lack of respect for human life nowadays; ie, drive-by shootings, children abducted and murdered, etc. The current generation has a whole lot of work ahead to undo the mess that was left to them.
