Wouldn't it be better if the money spent on eggs and bananas are given to the poor? Or Tsunami victims?

Please throw eggs I'll be there with my 9 year old (and an egg basket).
I have a big family, breakfast gets expensive.

Not one damn dime for gasoline. Not one damn dime for necessities or for impulse purchases.

From what I've read on their site, most DUmmies don't seem to have "one damn dime" no matter what day it is. Not a very productive lot.

And in their 2000 protest, the lefties were arrested within milliseconds of becoming rowdy (e.g., jumping over the Penn. Ave. barricades).

"For 24 Hours SHUT DOWN THE U.S. ECONOMY"

As if a bunch of college punks are going to create an economic train wreck.....

"I will wear black. I will wear a black armband, and put black flags up in my yard."

Better still, pray yourself with Black Flag, cockroach!

Why do they wear orange? Are they going deer hunting? I thought they loved animals. We have to wear orange for deer hunting in Mich. Might have to change to bright yellow to avoid confusion as to whether we are hunting or protesting "the system".

Since the inauguration is on a Thursday (i.e. work day), I will be at the office. Will have the radio handy to listen to coverage of the inauguration. Perhaps, in honor of "don't buy anything", I will go out for lunch and spend some $$ instead of the typical brown bag.

Very funny to read the CBS memogate thread yesterday. In retrospect, the affair actually helped the re-election effort of President Bush, IMHO.

You know, I get tired of these "symbolic" acts which in the end do no good.

As has been pointed out by other FReepers, what is not bought on January 20 will most certainly be bought on January 19 or January 21, and so the net effect will have been.....zero.

"Sacrifice" for a "cause," really, entails honest sacrifice.

I remember when I was in college, and the residents of the dormitory voted to "skip" an evening meal at the cafeteria, and to have the money saved donated to the local city mission (religious-based; I doubt if such a thing would be allowed today).

So, yeah, we did that.

And then turned right around and took up contributions from those involved, so as to buy pizzas for our meal that evening.

So.....where was the "sacrifice;" where did any of us college students go hungry so that others might eat?

And as the cafeteria food was pretty bad, this Valentino's pizza was a real treat.

Bah, humbug.

I should've put //sarcasm on my early post. The left suggested Bush to cancel the inauguration party and give the money to the tsunami. And now some of them want to waste on eggs and bananas...

PJ,

I'd like to see a Sandy Burglar DUFU - it should be entertaining. :)

Oh, but they do have a job. The DUmmies use the government to scam you to pay them. A full time job. ;^)

It's interesting analyzing the personalities of DUmmies.

"Skittles" over there seems pathologically angry at the moment; one hopes the guys in the white suits carrying a selection of certain jackets get to him soon.

I hope these loyal boycotters remember to throw the main electrical breaker before they go to bed next wednesday night, otherwise that ol' meter will keep on whirlin' and they will be participating in the USA economy.
