That is truly wicked and my sides ache so bad from laughing but that's my punishment for enjoying the DUFUnnies so much. I commend you on that one as today's best post!

Man, I feel so guilty!!! I am trying to feel sad, but that was the greatest piece of gallows humor I have read in quite some time.

Kephra had just changed his icon from the Isis eye to a Devil's face, that day I think. Spooky.

Same here.

Here's a caveat: If Khephra is indeed dead, then I hope that he rests in peace. Best wishes to his family and friends.

However, this is definitely pegging my "weird-o-meter" for reasons already discussed. People do strange things in grief though.

Unless his diability was never life threatening,

Apparently he had a 'bad back' and a 'bad knee'.

"Momma Khephra"?

If I understand it correctly, he literally fell over dead in front of his computer (probably a heart attack or stroke or something along those lines) while on DU. His mother knew how big he was there and used his account to post the messages alerting them of his death.

At least he died happy; it's obvious he loved the DU community. And he was much loved by them.

Politics aside, it's very sad. My condolences to everyone over there.

I'm not completely buying it either. The way the news was given, just flat out "he's dead" to her signature, "Kephra's Mom" doesn't look right. My skepticism may be because my wife had an online friend (Sim's site stuff) who faked her death.

No, it's for real. William Pitt knew both Khephra and his mother, and called her for confirmation.

As for the "Kephra's Mom" thing, see my post just above. I believe he was on DU when he died, so all mom had to do was sit down, hit the "new thread" button and start typing.

From what I can tell, Kephra was sort of a kattracks/JohnHuang2 type, posting tons and tons of news articles, for which the DUers were very grateful. He was a big name over there.

Yeah they do do strange things in grief. I just read the whole post. One DUer said he/she had spoken to the mother on the phone, and guided her through reading the posts of condolences.

This was the same day........in between talking to the sheriff and such things. Just seems a bizarre chain of events. If it's true, God Speed to him.

Disability does not necessarily mean quadriplegic. There are any number of reasons for full disability. Think you might want to back off and reconsider what you spouted. That post sounds like it would be more appropriate at DU than Free Republic

After reading all the posts, it does appear you are right. Not what I would do, but different people do different things I suppose.

Must have been his time, for whatever reason. Not are place to question that part.

You might want to read all my posts on this thread. I spouted nothing disrespectful or nasty, just questions. If I have offended you, I'm sorry.

The memos were never determined to be phony. What was determined was that they had been copied so many times over that it was impossible to determine they were authentic. By extension, it was also impossible to determine they were phony.

LOL... so if they'd said that Santa Claus was applying pressure to sugar-coat Bush's performance evaluation, and that he was grounded for his failure to bake a sufficiently tasty coconut cake, it would still be "impossible to determine they were phony" because they're multi-generation copies. *Sigh*

In that case, it's impossible to prove this isn't a genuine Navy document:
