(From CCN article 1/06/2005) ...The move was not designed to overturn Bush's re-election, said Ohio Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones and California Sen. Barbara Boxer, who filed the objection.
The objecting Democrats, all of whom are House members except Boxer, said they wanted to draw attention to the need for aggressive election reform in the wake of what they said were widespread voter problems.
(From USA Today Article 11/06/2002)... But Mondale conceded that the full-throated partisanship of an Oct. 29 memorial service for Wellstone may have contributed to his defeat by energizing Republican voters.
The three-hour memorial, attended by 20,000 people, turned into a sometimes raucous Democratic political rally. Some Republicans at the service were booed and a longtime associate of Wellstone's used his eulogy to urge the crowd to "win this Senate election for Paul Wellstone."
"I think there were some statements that went too far," Mondale acknowledged. He called it "very regrettable on the saddest of days" that "the shadow of partisan politics was raised."

The democrats have not figured this stuff out yet and keep shooting themselves in the foot. They even have adopted Michael Moore and his "documentary" format as a political platform. Even movies like "Reagan" and "Day After Tomorrow" are steeped in liberal mythology.
I hope they keep getting more opportunities to show themselves for what they are!
