"Ballistic Fingerprinting" has always been and always will be a sick and stupid joke. Like the Maryland Gun Lock Law. Where you have to buy the lock with a new handgun purchase. yet, there's nothing within the law that specifies that you have to use the lock. "Ballistic Fingerprinting" is a Warm Fuzzy that does absolutely nothing!
Run a round file down the barrel of a revolver and you've just destroyed the wherewithal of the fingerprinting.
Automatics?... Buy a new barrel and bushing at a gun show!
Don't even get me started on "Smart Gun" Technology!
