Well thanks! :-)
That's what this is all about.
I agree.
It exactly support what I said in my orginal post that Deportation will not work.
I am a Conservative Republican which doesnt mean supporting everything Bush does such as his immigration policy.
How about knocking off the name-calling and flamebait. It's obvious that you have no solution to the problem, else you'd not be posting this garbage. Hanging out the welcome mat for even MORE illegals is hardly the answer, yet that seems to be what Mr. Bush means to do. Kicking out the illegals or having them self-deport when there are no jobs and no welfare bennies for them, while perhaps extreme to your ilk, IS doable. Yes it will cost money... but it would save billions more for the ERs that would not have to close, welfare rolls that could be cut dramatically and jobs and wages that would be once more open to AMERICANS who want to work. Why is this such a problem for you??? What benefit do YOU derive from illegals being in the country?
You have it just bass-ackwards... must be you're dyslexic or something. Sanctions FIRST, then a guest-worker program that does NOT include current illegals. Otherwise we will (again) be overrun. You have been told about the massive increase in illegal alien traffic after Bush even MENTIONED amnesty; though that was not what he called it, that was explicitly what was told to the folks in Mexico and they started flocking here again, to get in position to take advantage of it. YOU are delusional if you think that this will not happen even more so if such a program passes and sanctions do NOT come first.
Get real people, all your delusions about deporting 15 millions illegal immigrants will not work. They tried it in the 50's and they failed, what will make it work now?
I missed the start of this thread (I was away from FR for a few days), but I wanted to congratulate you on trying to inject a little rationality into this discussion. I think it's an important matter, and I think Bush deserves credit for addressing it (which no other president has really dared to do for a long time), and I think FR discussions could be helpful. But the hysteria and - I hate to say it - sheer anti-Mexican hatred of some folks here have turned these threads into nothing but flame wars. I suspect they have also provided cover for DU anti-Bush trolls, who love to spread wild rumors and get uninformed conservatives all riled up.
BTW, one of the big reasons for the death of the migrant labor program was LBJ's desire to pave the way for Cesar Chavez's farmworkers union. It was your basic Democrat union pay-back. Or maybe pay-off.
Here's an idea, why don't you get out of the way while the adults deal with the illegal alien scurge.
That way you won't hinder our progress.
We should not allow Free Republic probably the most intelligent conservative and political discussion forum on the internet to be hijacked by a minority of radical fringe whose goal is to spew their anti-Latino racism and brutally attack President Bush under the cover of discussing illegal immigration. As I mentioned in my earlier post this is a very important issue and President Bush is presenting the Guest Worker Program solution that is not complete yet but never the less it is a solution based on logic, facts, and practicality. We still need to ensure the other half of the solution which strongly strengthening the borders to prevent new wave of illegal immigrants.
Deporting 10 to 15 million illegal immigrants is just plain stupid, delusional, and unpractical.
I will not get out of the way of the delusional people on FR who thinks that they can resolve the illegal immigration issue by deporting the millions of illegal immigrants.
Illegal means illegal. And we most certainly can resolve it by not only deporting them but punishing those who hire them severely and removing any access to social programs that they currently have.
They are parasites and the only way to deal with parasites is to get rid of them.
You and your illegal loving ilk would love to be able to convince the 80% of Americans that want the illegals gone that it can't be done. The fact, however, is that not only can it be done but it will be done. Whether you like it or not.
It will never happen, get over it.
Like I said, it's going to happen whether you like it or not.
Illegal immigration is a national problem and ought to primarily be the jurisdiction of the federal government. As head of the federal government's executive branch, it's Bush who gets to feel the heat.
If he were doing something about the problem, there would be no criticism as it is. So he's getting the heat he deserves.
While you are long on derision for those whose opinions differ from those of you and your toadies, you seem to be a bit light in the loafers when it comes to providing substantive answers to issues raised and specific questions asked of you. I wonder why that is? So you need not respond to me until you re-read mu posts and can respond to the specifics of them.
