WA Recount Spreadsheet (11/22 - Rossi +25)
Murdoc Online ^ | 11/19/04 (live data) | Murdoc

My smarter brother has redone his sheet to cover the recount of the Washington governor's race. Counties will not report anything until that entire county has been recounted, so instead of trickling in the votes will appear in chunks. Otherwise, the spreadsheet works as before to tabulate votes (re)counted and to project the final tally based upon county-by-county percentages.

Of particular note is the "Change since first count" on the right, which reflects the change in the recounted totals from the original results in the counties recounted so far. I think this is the number everyone will be watching.

TOPICS: Government; Miscellaneous; Politics
KEYWORDS: blue; dinorossi; election; fraud; governor; gregoire; kingcounty; rats; recount; red; rossi; seattle; spreadsheet; washington
I continue to shamelessly promote my live-data Excel spreadsheet. Download it yourself and watch as the counties report.

Currently Dino Rossi is up by 92,945 in the counties that have already reported. This is an increase of 25 over the original counts in these counties.

Thanks, but it seems you (or your brother) haven't updated your site. Look at this one:
November 22, 2004
Recount Reports Coming in

UPDATE Monday, 7:35pm: Rossi +25 in recount => Rossi total lead is 286
(based on recounts from 24 counties, representing 25% of total votes)

The recount results are rolling in. We combine the results of the first count and the incoming recount results and update the table below as new reports come in.

Hold on to your chairs.

Yes. The "lead" of 286 is arrived at by taking the original margin of victory (261) and adding the +25 differential from the first count in the counties that have been recounted. That's what our sheet shows.

Our numbers come right from the WA SoS site.

(Is it possible that the numbers haven't/can't refresh on your copy of the sheet? Another Freeper had trouble with that earlier. One thing to try would be to click the "Refresh Data" button on the External Data toolbar (you might have to show the toolbar first). I wonder if the WA SoS site is overloaded. The spreadsheet automatically refreshes every 10 minutes.)

Some people keep group lists of FReeper they know have an interest in a particular subject. When the list-keeper notices an article for which the list applies, they post a short PING message to alert everyone on the list that something interesting has been posted. When you post “ping” on a thread, you’re asking to be added to the list.

Also, putting a FReeper's screen name in reply to so that they will see it in self search.

It's also a golf equipment company.
