The nomination of Dr. Condoleeza Rice by President Bush for the position of Secretary of State has elicited the usual response of racist caricature.
Now available on important publications like the New York Times, liberal cartoonists go where photos cannot.

Unnecessary in that the article would have been effective without it. Certainly, if a non-black person wrote that article, you'd be informing them (probably through your lawyer) of that exact same point.
Perhaps, "us negroes" (in reference to "off-the-plantation", uppity ex-slaves) would have served just as well.
Incorrect in that "Uncle Tom" would be the phrase used by liberals when describing successful blacks such as Dr. Condoleeza Rice.
And hypocritical. Quite frankly, I'm getting tired of the "it's OK for me to say it, but not for you" attitude. You want that word to go away, stop using it and condemn those who do, black or white.
(And remember, I said it was an excellent article.)
I stand by my usage. Why not say what they are thinking? They care not about hurting conservative's feelings when they offer baseless charges of racism purely for politics.
The shoe is on the other foot now.
They can deal with it.
Thanks,

after you neutered it thru' the lib spin-cycle.
The best actors are those you swear are not acting.
The same is true for articles. The use of the "n" word was distracting. It took away from, rather than added to, the article.
Might just as well throw in some f-words too -- I'm sure a good case can also be made for that in this article, wouldn't you agree?
If I was being harsh, check this out:

I rest my case.
I disagree...
From an earlier post of yours: Quite frankly, I'm getting tired of the "it's OK for me to say it, but not for you" attitude. You want that word to go away, stop using it and condemn those who do, black or white.
It's the language of bigotry. It reaches down into that ugly part dwelling in some people's souls, the place that makes some people lesser people than others. As long as the belief is alive & well, the word needs to stay around. We need to remember why it should make people's skin crawl.
Placing the f*bomb into what he wrote, nope, doesn't apply. It wouldn't be fitting. If the topic of discussion was paedophilia, I'd rather go with the f*bomb than some nice euphemism.
I think it would be wonderful if the current use of the words "fetus/foetus" were made similarly vile some day.
"Linda Hoskins of the NAACP's Madison branch said she could not comment on Sylvester's remarks until she had heard them in their entirety."
I have to agree with the above. I don't know if he was saying this out of the blue, or if he was commenting on Harry Belafonte's remarks made back in 2002 (which were even worse -- calling them both house negroes. See, he chose to substitute "negro").
Since John Sylvester is a white liberal commentator, this controvery will go no farther (unlike what happened to Mark Belling, a white conservative commentator).
There is a big double standard when it comes to the reaction to these epithets, no doubt. All we can do is keep pointing them out.
It's not that you were too harsh. The language you used may detract from your message, cuz rather than hearing the points you made, some people will lose their minds & get stuck on that word.
I think he's under the impression that people want all use of the n*word to go away.
Lefties want to strip the word of it's power to hurt, which is why they have brought it back into "controlled" use, PC use, where it's okay for a black guy to call his black bud by the term. In that PC world, it's never okay for any white person to use it.
You used it in the way I think it should be used, in all of it's harsh glory, as the language of bigotry. I used it myself in a similar way once. It caused quite a firestorm, specially since I'm white.
And the ACLU. And NOW. Where's Jesse? Where's the Rev. Al?
But Mark Belling says "wetback" when referring to Mexican illegal aliens on Milwaukee's south side, and he's off the air for a week.
