I would think that believers in replacement theology would go out of their way to show that they are not anti-Semites by daming terrorists.
Pope John Paul II has an illustrious history. I will attribute the remark to frailty of age.

"How does he expect to have credibility glorifying an unrepentant terrorist who hates and kills Jews, the apple of God's eye?"

You: What is the theology of the Catholic Church and the Pope in this matter? Do they believe that Jewish people are still The Apple of God's Eye as the Bible states? - Or do they believe incorrectly that the Church replaces the Jewish people as the Apple of God's Eye (ie Replacement Theology)? How do they interpret the New Testament?

Me: I don't know the Catholic stance on this since I am not Catholic. I though my answer was clear. The Jews are still the apple of God's eye. The "church" hasn't replaced that fact. The church is the body of believers in Christ. Jews are welcome to become a part of that as well. If they don't the Old Testament, for Jews that take it seriously will have the same opportunity as other nonbelievers to become part of the "church". Daniel and other books are clear enough on prophecy.

I'm a pre tribber too!

You're not so alone.

Replacement theology is not something I believe in since it is NOT Biblically correct.

Thanks brothers and sisters. It is not easy to hold steadfast to true Christian beliefs (I don't jsut mean Bible prophecy, but also faith, tradition vs scripture) on a secular board like FR - you have to be very strong in faith.

Perhaps I have stayed far too long at the Religion forum - it is often far too ecumenical.

Keep this in mind:

Matt.7:14

[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Kofi Annan is undeniably one of the most corrupt (he is currently blocking all U.S. Senate efforts to investigate the U.N.-Iraq oil-for-food rip-off) and immoral men alive, and his leadership of the U.N. exposes it for the farce it has tragically become. Then there was French President Jacques Chirac whose stomach-turning pronouncement on the death of the godfather of all modern terror – whom Chriac praised in death as a man of "courage and conviction" – was that he was all choked up and could barely speak.

There is a true proverb: show me your friends and I'll tell you the type of person you are rings very true with Chirac and Kofi Annan. They are the AntiChrist and his right hand man imho.

Thank you for posting this. I have been yet again disturbed by the Vatican's behavior. The Church seems to be doing its best to push Catholics away.
