Christians Jailed In Philadelphia For Preaching God's Word November 02, 2004
The City of Philadelphia has shown itself intolerant of the Gospel and those who proclaim its message.
On Sunday, October 10, eleven Christians were arrested on the streets of Philadelphia as they shared the truth of the Scriptures and called upon hundreds of celebrating homosexuals to repent and believe the Gospel.
On the first day of the "REPENT AMERICA LIFE AND LIBERTY TOUR" eleven Christians took the Gospel to the Philadelphia Outfest Homosexual Pride Event. The Christians displayed banners with Biblical messages and began to preach the gospel to those in attendance. The event took place on a public street where thousands were milling.
The ministry team was immediately accosted by the "Pink Angels", a militant mob of homosexuals who attempted to drown out the call to repentance with dozens of loud whistles, and sought to hide the message with dozens of large sheets of pink styrofoam.
Even though the Christians obeyed all laws, city ordinances, and lawful requests by the Philadelphia police officers on hand, they were promptly and without warning, arrested and hauled off to jail where they spent 21 hours before being released on Monday morning.
Among the outrageous charges filed against these faithful witnesses were the following.
-Criminal Conspiracy, felony
-Possession of Instruments of Crime, misdemeanor (The Bible is a two-edged sword and was considered a threat to the lawless and ungodly)
Reckless Endangerment of Another Person, misdemeanor (This was entirely dreamed up)
Ethnic Intimidation, felony (Sodomites have worked for years to have clear Gospel preaching outlawed as a hate crime.)
Riot, felony (Dispite the fact that our behavior was above reproach and we were attacked by a mob of whistle blowing, obscenity screaming God haters, the Christians, and only the Christians, were charged.)
Failure to Disperse, misdemeanor (This charge is also bogus)
Disorderly Conduct, misdemeanor (A favorite allegation made by those who have no truly lawful charge to bring against those who would obey the great commission.)
Obstructing Highways, misdemeanor ( Once again this charge is ridiculous. A video crew was on hand to film the ministry outreach and the footage will clearly disprove the validity of every charge brought against us)
"The Scriptures are filled with accounts of faithful followers of the Messiah who proclaimed the Gospel dispite severe persecusion. We are called upon and commanded to do no less. To shrink back would not be Biblical Christianity. May all of the true Disciples of our Messiah live as he lived and obediently follow Him even as this world grows in its hatred toward the truth of the Gospel and toward His servants." said Dennis Green, director of Life and Liberty Ministries.

"Eleven Christians arrested and jailed in Philadelphia"
Have they outlawed it again?
This is going to be a beautiful lawsuit and by the time it gets to the SC it will be packed with Conservative judges.
They're tough in Philadelphia. Who can forget the time they firebombed an entire neighborhood over a minor zoning infraction by a couple of the residents.
I'm curious - the Boy Scouts won the right to not admit gay members (and I agree with that ruling). The right to freedom of association was upheld. However, shouldn't that right also in turn apply to the other side? If gays want to have a gathering, they should be able to exclude folks that they do not want there.
You can't have it both ways.
Wait a minute. The Christians were there 1st.
Whoops - I was wrong - didn't read it right.
Welcome to Free Republic.
So Christians can't be on a public street because homosexuals are there?
Correct me if I`m wrong, the Boy Scouts prohibit gay scout-masters, not gay members. If this is the case, then the comparison to the religious group who`s members were arrested is invalid because the scout-masters are in a position of authority. Try this on, a high school in California has made it "illegal" for students to congregate in peer groups if another student feels excluded. Example; You and your friends like 80's music. You sit at the lunch table talking about 80's music. Another student who, smells bad and doesn`t like 80's music wants to sit with you and discuss foreign films. You HAVE to let him sit with you because (completely non-denominational, all inclusive and generically termed)God forbid the stinky little nerd feel "left out"
...eleven Christians were arrested on the streets of Philadelphia...
Aren't streets sort of public? And while you can close down a street for an event, if you intend to keep the public out, aren't you obligated to provide barricades and security? As far as I can tell these Christians were not gate crashers, just members of the public exercising their rights at a public event.
Sounds like the arresting officers can easily and should be charged with Civil Rights violations.
Fifty years ago as a small child living briefly in Philly our family was routinely run off the road and cursed because we had Texas plates on our car...
Likewise at school I was daily faced with fist fights by those that did not like my southern accent
no wonder the liberty bell is cracked.
I strongly hope you administered some "Texas Justice" on the liberal weenies. On behalf of the rest of PA I would like to apologize for the actions of the union thugs, the progressive thinkers, the lunatic left, and most of all the Eagles fans. Just in case, the "brotherly" love thing WAS meant in sarcasm.

The street that we entered was open to the public. The only barracade we faced was the line of pink angels with interlocked arms. The police eventually let us through the line and said that we could go anywhere we wanted since it was a public street. Everything was caught on video and audio. ..and I agree with Free Trapper, go after the police for civil rights violations. esp if everything is recorded on tape.
This is an outrage!!! Somebody needs to get down there and fight these people!!
If you're going to make a nuisance of yourselves, expect to pay the price. Jesus didn't bitch about going to the cross.
