I just received this email from a Dutch colleague of mine (and I have a lot of them in my business, so he's not identifiable by association with me)who has some unique insights into the islamic terrorism there. He has given me permission to pass this around for public consumption. I hope it helps give perspective and insight into the current situation and future possibilities. -- Jim Oberg (www.jamesoberg.com), Houston, Tx.

It's sad indeed, but what's even sadder is the fact that everybody was predicting things like this were bound to happen sooner or later (but everybody knew it would be sooner).
Everybody was warning for muslim extremism, with Christians and Jews being harrassed by young Morroccans, spit in their faces, beaten up, robbed, etc. Everybody was saying something HAD to be done, except the government. Even when Pim Fortuyn was assassinated (the right-wing politician who dared to say these things aloud in the press) the ruling parties spoke out that the limit had been reached, did nothing and after a few weeks went back to every-day business.
A sad example is the mayor of Amsterdam. Mind you, this major is a Jew, and I feel a Jew should understand more than anyone else how important it is to fight racism and extremism. But this guy is simply too much of a softie for his job.
When young Morroccans were screaming anti-semitic texts during the annual ceremony to commemorate the holocaust, he did nothing, except saying "We must start a dialogue with these people to explain why this is unacceptable."
When they used the wreaths as footballs, he said "We must start a dialogue with these people to explain why this is unacceptable."
When they stood outside Christian churches an spat in the faces of the church-goers, calling them pigs and Christian dogs, he said: "We must start a dialogue with these people to explain why this is unacceptable."
When a small group of these guys (of between 15 and 18 years old) terrorized an elderly couple to such an extent that they had to flee from their street where they had lived for decades, he said "We must start a dialogue with these people to explain why this is unacceptable."
On top of that, he gave them a building where they could meet. Never did he do anything to protect the people that were attacked. The police is afraid to act, since they are always accused of discrimination immediately. Cops that I know are very, very frustrated about this. They resent the fact that issuing speeding tickets is a higher priority than protecting the people (it is!).
I don't know what you heard about what's been happening here in the last week. When Theo van Gogh was murdered, that was the limit for many, many people. The killer stuck a breadknife in his body with a letter addressed to a female (Muslim) MP announcing that she would be next (and several other outspoken people were also named).
This woman had been telling in public about the humiliations women have to undergo in Muslim countries such as Somalia (where she was born), Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan. She has had dozens and dozens of death threats since.
The reason Van Gogh was killed, the letter said, was the fact that he couldn't find her and because she has a number of body guards.
Van Gogh was rather outspoken, to say the least. He called Muslims "goat fuckers", explaining that he felt he had the right to call them that since these Morroccans call him a dog or a pig.
All in all, it appears that there are elements here that have had it with the undecisiveness of the government and decided to take the law into their own hands. A very bad development, but something most non-politicians had seen coming for several years.
I don't know where you got the info you added in your message (http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=13530_Massive_Anti-Terror_Action_in_The_Hague), but there weren't 40 arrest teams (equivalent to your SWAT teams). There aren't that many in the entire country!
However, never before have there been this many different police and military units involved in one incident. Three policemen were injured when the house they wanted to raid turned out to be boobytrapped and the people inside threw a hand grenade. Two were hospitalized, one of them seriously wounded, but not life-threatening.
About three hours ago, the BBE and sharpshooters ended the siege and arrested two people, one of them was shot in the shoulder in the process. They suspected that there was some explosives in the house, plus the other weapons. Don't know if they've already found anything: a robot with a camera is searching the place. They're probably afraid that there will be more booby traps and I cant blame them....
Anyway, I'm afraid that it isn't over yet. It's probably just starting.

Even more police have arrived in The Hague from Amsterdam and all over the country. I don't think I've seen this much police in one location ever before.
Police have climbed the roofs.
A 'number of suspects' are in a house on the Antheunisstraat.
Surrounding houses have been evacuated.
One police officer turns out to have been severely wounded.
An action using force seems imminent. Unfortunately, I have to drive to Utrecht in a few minutes. I'll try to keep you posted as best as I can.
In Utrecht now, where there's WLAN. Here are some pictures of the area.

A bit of roaring lion The Dutch tend not to like nationalism, except when it's about soccer or when we are really, really mad.
So I liked this comment at Tim Blair's site:
'Never ever f**k with them. Slow to anger, they are utterly determined and utterly ruthless when they have to be, this is how they defeated the Spanish, built an empire, and taught the world about commerce.'
In other words, beware the anger of a patient man. Considering the things that have happened the past week, which I would never have deemed possible two weeks ago, I'm inclined to agree. After all, the motto beneath the two lions in our coat of arms doesn't say "Je Maintiendrai" (I Will Maintain) for no reason.

Massive anti-terror action in The Hague If I can believe RTL Nieuws, there's about forty different arrest teams currently active in the Laakkwartier precinct of The Hague in what seems to be a huge anti-terror action. Here's what I know so far:
Airspace above The Hague has been sealed off until further notice.
At 3 AM, arrest teams tried to enter a house on the Antheunisstraat in The Hague.
Three officers were hurt, two of them allegedly quite severely to their stomach and legs, after explosions were heard. RTL Nieuws reports that a hand grenade was thrown at them. Two of the officers are still receiving hospital treatment.
At 3.30 AM, shots were heard.
No one is allowed into the area or even go back into their house. People can leave, but can't get in again. This led to strange situations in which a woman who had let out her dog couldn't return home. All those people are brought to a shelter.
People who try to leave the area and have no identity papers, or turn out not to be registered on any address in the precinct, are brought down for further questioning.
Around 8 AM, a man wearing only underwear who is reportedly of Asian descent, was apparently arrested. RTL Nieuws reports he's probably someone an illegal alien who had the bad luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Nothing is known about further arrests.
However, a negotiator has been brought in. This suggests that the initial bust went wrong, and the people who this is all about, are still inside.
The number of officers and soldiers down there must be huge. Some of the units are military anti-terrorist teams, which implies that they expect a huge potential for violence. The military units, the BBE (Bijzondere Bijstands Eenheid or Special Support Unit), were first founded in 1973 after the terrorist actions during the Olympic Games in 1972. They are not the kind of people you bring in for arresting a shoplifter.
Meanwhile, the police refuses to make any statements about the attack on the Pauluskerk (Church of Paul) in Boxmeer yesterday night, only hours after an Islamic school in Uden was completely destroyed.
Thanks for sharing the info your associate gave you.
Sure looks like the Dutch may start to rethink their
liberal views a bit. Perhaps this incident will start
to stir up other Europeans to think about their future.
Of course, Chirac will continue to nose up to the Islamo
facists of the world. Sleep with snakes expect to eventualy
get bitten. Europe must awaken while it still has time.
Of course what do you do when there are already huge Muslim populations throughout Europe. Should be interesting to see how things start to play out.
Looks like they had all the media there!
The superior and enlightened Euro-trash
are finally seeing the chickens come home to roost.
"Time to have a referendum on some politicians."
Amen to that suggestion. Let us hope many European leaders start to get the message before it is to late. I wonder how many more throats will have to be slit before these far left libs, with their heads in the sand (deliberately) will start to acknowledge that America and Briton where not out of line with what has to be done in Iraq and elsewhere but that we where right on!
Pim and Theo were Dutch patriots and heroes. Theo was not a charming man like Pim but he had a right to free speech. Pim and Theo both knew they were risking their lives and they bravely accepted the challenge. The Dutch should be very proud of both of them - they may have saved Holland from becoming an Islamic sewer.
These people are animals and the Dutch better fight now while they still can. If they wait any longer it will be too late. I salute the Dutchies for their bravery.
Meanwhile, Bush wants to give illegal aliens amnesty. I am glad I spent money, volunteered and voted for him. Thanks for the knife in the back GW. We are going to fight against any amnesty.
I hope the Dutch are utterly determined and utterly ruthless because these Jihadists WILL destroy Western European civilization if you don't STOP them NOW.
I admire the Dutch for their bravery. Pim and Theo are my heroes. They knew the danger they faced and they never flinched.
"José María Aznar! A fine man and leader from all indications! Thanks for the link. I feel sorry for him.
Damn Spaniards after all these years seemed to have went along with his policies of fighting terrorist! Then boom!
I'm telling you folks! It pisses me of super royaly!
As many of you know the Spanish peoples are a strange mix.
And many of them have always held hostilities toward our country! Yes, and reason is, they like the frigen Arabs pretend to be sooooooo proud, and soooooo strong, but don't have the balls to stand up to a couple bombs planted on their frigen railroad tracks. They are mostly as splineless as much of Europe! Their late prime minister Aznar was a fine example of real leadershiop. The guy had real balls! So they had to cut him down at the first chance of opportunity! OK. Let the frigen Arabs reconquer their lands and see how they like it. It is like whole Europe with the exceptions of the merging ex-soviet union countries and England are the only ones with and scrupples and balls any more!
It could have happened here and the DemonicRats would have done the same thing....
BTTT!!! Thanks, Ernest.
"and how the Socialist were absolutley ruthless in convincing the people and several Freepers here about how Aznar lied......"
Sir, I am fully aware of just how evil the libs that took the country over, using those bombings as political gain,
just as you said big slimmy John treason Kerry and other libs here, would loved to have accomplished.
But thanks for the reference.
Actually it serves the Spaniards right! Let them continue down the further path of socialism and pacifism. Then when the Muslims start sliting their throats we can watch them cry out........whooo is me.....why are they doing this to us.........we went along with their submission. We weak peoples like the rest of Europe submit to Allah and his prophet.
No response required, we are on the same brain waves.
Good post. Thanks.
It is rather curious that one popular interpretation of the Bible's prophecies says that someone from Europe would be the Antichrist. If Islamic extremism taints the soul of Europe, I wouldn't find that interpretation coming true at all surprising.
