"Electronic Futures" success stories? (Okay ... who cleaned up?!)

Posted on 11/03/2004 7:56:10 AM PST by The G Man

From hopping over to Tradesports throughout the day looks like "W" got down to about 28 or so. Maybe lower? Anyone make a killing? Let us rejoice vicariously through you!

Somebody on FR told me to buy Bush at exactly the right time.
I didn't have the faith, I was worried by the radio guys who got fooled by the exit polls.
Shame on me.

Yr hmbl srvnt had a dandy little punt on Bush on tradesports.com. The story can be read @www.marketforum.com -- look up the threads titled 'Trading Is About Making a Profit' and 'Well, Left a Lot On The Table'.

Please note the time of the original 'Trading' post (evil grin!)

I made $1300 buying at 55-56 Monday and early Tuesday AM. Had I only had the foresight to realize it would dip into the 20's based on flawed exit poll data, I would have made nearly twice as much (but it's hard to complain about making that much in one day's trading). Thanks to GWB's re-election, I'll get to keep some of it...

Nice work! (maybe we need a TradeSports ping list)

I was originally in at +55, then my limit orders at 40 and 45 went off last night when I was away. (thank you exit polls!) I can't believe the Bush contract fell to the 20s! I hope exit polls work as a contra-indicator in future elections!

Gee, Stu, the only thing that you didn't do was to open up accounts for everyone and fund them yourself!

You realize they will fix the exit polling...

The pundits do not like having egg on their faces. It's bad for their egos.

I just heard Carl Cameron explain on FNC before the Kerry Konfession Speech that "exit polls were never supposed to be used this way" ... or similar words!

Politics aside, there's a good deal of collegiality at marketforum. When a trader is onto a good idea, why not throw it out for consideration, eh?

It was nice to see a few of the folks make a tasty hit.

Thousands of dollars, but then I had contributed thousands in advance to various good causes: Swift Boat Veterans, Progress for America Voter Fund, 8 GOP Senate candidates (all won except Coors), and one GOP Congressional candidate.

My biggest bet was thousands on Bush to win the whole election. I'm not that much of a gambler. My thought was that, if Bush lost, it would be so upsetting that the pain of losing money would pale by comparison.

Three smaller amounts, but still hundreds of dollars worth, were bet on Bush to win Virginia, Bush to win Florida, and Daschle to lose.

I plan on donating a substantial portion of winnings to the church of my Father (who died several months back, WWII, 29+ USAF veteran) and one or more veteran or armed forces related charities such as the USO.
