Kerrygot an "other than honorable" dicharge AFTER being court martialed. He was court martialed for a charge lower than "treason," which would have been a capital crime in time of war. Interestingly, a lesser charge was used for 3 reasons, (1) Kerry was a ecorated (even with the fudging) officer, (2) he was well connected and (3) President Nixon was a former USN officer and felt that a capital crime of treason would reflect poorly on the service. So Kerry was cashiered for a charge below treason, "aiding and abetting," "lending aid and comfort," "treating with in time of war?"
Carter then pardoned Kerry in 1977, although it may have been under his broad clemency abilities rather than under the Amnesty order.
In any event, the records are in the Office of the Pardon Attorney, Dept. of Justice, DC and should be available to any one who asks.
That the media has not pursued this issue is a disgrace and proves the media's falsity. Something must be done to ensure that the media can no longer impose it's political biases on the rest of us.
