Frederick Gets 8 Years in Iraq Abuse Case
This guy needs to be pardoned. All he did was put panties on the head of a prisoner! He is the Fall Guy! After the election, lets start a petition or an email campaign to get this guy pardoned!

Uhhhhhh.... NO.... And welcome to FreeRepublic.
Please do tell why this guy should be the Fall guy? Why should he serve 8 years for putting a pair of panties on a head???? People murder people and get less time than that. Please dont think like Tom Brokaw on this...
He did far more than just put panties on a prisoners head. The other acts of torture were wrong. There is no legitimate excuse for the use of the methods applied.
He is also guilty of another crime that is unforgiveable. He failed to lead his soldiers. He failed to do the right thing because it was easier to go with the flow and to later claim "I was just following orders."
He failed his subordinates by not leading them. He failed his country by not living up to code of conduct demanded of our armed forces. He failed himself because he knew that what he was doing was wrong. He deserves no pardon.
Because he was the guy in charge actually present when violation of the UCMJ occured.
I agree with that Oztrich, but the point still remains-what he did isnt all that terrible. Think of what those Terrorists have done to us and our soldiers...Compare the two and what he did is nothing...I dont think he should serve 8 years....What he did isnt torture...
The liberal media made it look like what our soldiers were doing was so God awful terrible, but it wasnt...
I still think of what Kerry, Hanoi Jane and others did during Vietnam--the liberal media doesnt bring that up and hence no jailtime for those traitors...
"I still think of what Kerry, Hanoi Jane and others did during Vietnam--the liberal media doesnt bring that up and hence no jailtime for those traitors..."
But if the accused was found guilty in violations of our Uniformed Code of Military Justice, he must face the required punishment. Period. Just the same reason why Kerry should be accused and held responsible for his violations of the UCMJ articles in violation of, and of course his violations of the Constitution. Equal justice for all.
Now if it turns out that president Carter actually pardoned Kerry from his wrong doings and set in place a mechanism for Kerry to have his disharge status changed in 1978 etc., then there is nothing that can be done about bringing Kerry to justice.
Hi. Do you think Carter pardoned Kerry? Is that why Kerry wont release all of his records?
I do agree that people should serve jailtime if guilty. But, I still dont think the penalty is equal to the crime this guy committed.
Hey..the liberals do crap like this all of the time and get off...maybe its time for some conservatives to get off scott free....
Joe
Joe,
"Hi. Do you think Carter pardoned Kerry? Is that why Kerry wont release all of his records?"
I don't know. But what one reads in various articles on Kerry in reference to why his honorable discharge was dated 1978, it just seems a bit weird. He should have received a official discharge from the Navy after his six years of service he signed up for in 1966. There are folks that say he must have had received a dis-honorable or at best general discharged then later got it modified. We may never know, because the only way to get his records is for him to sigh the military form 108 used to give permission for the military to allow for inqueiries into his service record. Obviously he has no plans on doing this. There are people who say they know for a fact based on reading years back in the Boston Globe that he received a dis-honorable discharge, and that is why he was accepted into Harvard to study law. Quite frankly I was under the impression that someone was going to "drop the bomb" on this issue this month..........in showing the Globe's original article that made the claim. Or perhaps a record from Harvard that clearly showed why he was not accepted.
Guess we will never get at the truth regarding Kerry. Surely he has managed with the help of very powerful people such as Ted Kennedy to make sure his tracks have been erased in regards to anything that could possibly incriminate him regarding his service record and his dealings with the communists in Paris etc.. Snakes know how to crawl silently through the grass..................
whoops........
that is why he was NOT accepted into Harvard to study...
