Our government has recently announced a massive campaign to investigate and seek out information and leads in hopes to disrupt and prevent any terrorism plans against our nation and people.
We appreciate the heightened sense of security and the need for full alertness and unwavering vigilance. We believe that our religious and patriotic duties, as well as the safety and security of our country, dictate that we contribute our utmost to the success of protecting our nation against any and all acts of terrorism and violence.
We do express our concerns, nonetheless, that any national campaign could circumvent and/or violate the Constitutionally-protected civil rights and basic freedoms of many innocent American citizens and residents. While we appreciate the overarching priority of security, we should never allow that to undermine our civil liberties and our Constitution.
From our perspective, the success of this campaign depends on:
Preventing any possible act of terrorism and violence, and Minimizing and preventing any harassment of our community, or any member of society at large.
We call upon our community and its leaders to be proactive and take the following actions:
Intensify individual and collective outreach efforts to public officials, law enforcement, and the religious and civic community. Our motto should be: how can we collectively help keep our nation and its residents safe Be vigilant and report to the authorities any violent, suspicious or unlawful activities. Exercise self-restraint against any possible backlash or discrimination, and report any acts of provocation or harassment that you may be subject to during this period of heightened national security efforts. Our Prophet, peace be upon him, teaches us that an important measure of the success of our mission is in achieving a universal sense of security and peace for all people.

Not all Muslims are terrorists. However, all terrorists of concern to the United States are Muslim. Therefore, it would be seem prudent to keep Islam at arm's length until it's adherents learn to behave better. If that takes a hundred years, fine.
I appreciate your sentiments. However, for me, rather than keep Islam and its adherents at arms length I intend to get in the face of those who advocate Islamism versus democracy with my freedom to speak and reveal their insidious lies. Someone has to do it and the more the better and merrier.
No one should have to get in their face. They shouldn't be here in the first place. The fact that they are speaks to the negligence of our government.
Friend, I shouldnt have to get into the face of who? I have a good friend who happens to be a Bosnian Muslim refugee. Hes white, has blond hair and blue eyes. His daughter is my daughters best friend. He fought his way through Islamists and Serbian fascist to bring his family to America. His wife is Orthodox as is mine. Im a deist. The first few times his family came over for dinner I fixed both American and Halal food. At first he stuck to the Halal. The last time he was over I had fixed lamb and good old American smoked pork ribs. Guess what he wanted? The ribs. Hes an American now. Hes still a Muslim but Id fight with him anywhere and I know he would fight for me. Thats the beauty of America. Always has been. We are better now than we were a 100 years ago. We will be better still in the future if we stick to what made us great our principles and our constitution. Meanwhile, Ill guard my freedom by fighting fascism which right now happens to be most prevalent in the Islamist movement.
