Seldom has a presidential campaign seen such bald-faced pandering as John Kerry demonstrated yesterday in Spring Green, Wisconsin. With a polling deficit nearing double digits in a state Al Gore carried last election, Kerry tried stemming the bleeding by sucking up to Wisconsin's dairy farmers. Long a supporter of the Northeastern Dairy Compact that put the screws to Midwestern producers, Kerry told the Spring Green farmers that he now has seen the light:

Let's see... Kerry began his campaign speech with "reporting for duty" which reminded everyone of his backstabbing of his fellow veterans. Then he complained about the nonexistent connection between the Swifties and the Bush campaign, after having directed proxy 527 orgs for a year or more. Now he's reminding everyone in Wisconsin of his misconduct toward them. I'm pretty sure Kerry doesn't want to be president, or wants to be able to point to low expectations toward him if he happens to pull it out. Speaking of pulling it out, I doubt that he's ever pulled it out. Craniorectosis ping. George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent
