The "Conservatives" Who Destroyed American Conservatism

Posted on 09/24/2004 4:59:41 PM PDT by M 91 u2 K

Once upon a time, there was a vibrant, powerful, grassroots movement of tens of millions of authentic conservatives in America who made this nation a moral and spiritual beacon of greatness.

However, the genuine American conservatism that was responsible for America's rise to greatness has disappeared.

The destroyers of this once mighty movement are not the left-wing news media, the Hollywood moguls, the Marxist labor unions or the Bolshevik educational establishment, although all of these evil groups benefit enormously from conservatism's untimely demise.

The destroyers of American conservatism are Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Oliver North, talk radio and the Fox News Channel.

First, we must understand what genuine conservatism used to represent and how it so profoundly influenced the American way of life.

Why were the old Hollywood films of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s so moral, so decent, so patriotic and so uplifting?

The people who ran Hollywood in those years were the same type of immoral, unpatriotic and pro-Communist human sewage that continue to control Hollywood film-making today.

The un-American, unpatriotic and pro-Communist sympathies of most of Hollywood were fully exposed during the McCarthy era of the 1950s.

In their personal lives, the Hollywood moguls, producers, directors, writers and actors were infamous for their rampant adultery, and for sometimes getting married and divorced six or seven times.

Yet their evil beliefs and immoral lifestyles were generally kept out of their films. Instead, many hundreds of spectacular and epic movies were created that inspired Americans to love their country, love their family and live noble and decent lives.

Why did such immoral Hollywood slime produce only moral and righteous films from the 1930s to the 1950s?

The reason was simple: if the slightest immorality crept into a film, tens of millions of genuinely conservative Americans would boycott all companies and individuals who had anything to do with the film.

Whenever something objectionable appeared in a movie or on the radio, or in the 1950s on television, tens of thousands of Americans would write angry letters and make angry telephone calls complaining.

Companies were terrified of sponsoring a movie or a radio or television show that would offend "middle America" - those church-going, Bible-believing citizens who were the real conservatives of their day.

In 1964, frustrated conservatives decided to support Barry Goldwater's candidacy for the Republican Presidential nomination.

The Republican Party establishment and the left-wing news media supported the Presidential candidacy of New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller, a hardcore leftist. Rockefeller had the money, the party organization, the big-name endorsements and the favorable media coverage that in combination made him the clear frontrunner for the Republican nomination. Polls from 1961 to 1963 showed Rockefeller with a huge lead over Goldwater and all other potential Republican candidates.

In 1964, conservatives literally staged a "hostile takeover" of the Republican Party

Conservatives were alarmed over the Communist-led "civil rights" movement of Martin Luther King that inspired a new black militancy. Martin Luther King embraced the Communists and Malcolm X. Martin Luther King called America "the great purveyor of violence in the world today". If he was alive he would have been glad to see 9/11 and be against defending America. This militant black anger and hatred produced frantic attempts by whites to appease black extremists. Forced integration, forced busing, massive new public housing projects, massive new welfare programs and "affirmative action" racial preference quotas were all first implemented in the 1960s.

These numerous attempts to appease black anger and hatred all backfired. The appeasement gave violent blacks a new self-confidence that led to a soaring crime rate, massive increases in illegitimate births, and the destruction of huge sections of America's major cities.

Conservatives in 1964 had only one way to channel their fear, anger and frustration: by joining together to take over the Republican Party and nominate Goldwater.

This is the key difference between the conservatives of 1964 and the conservatives of 2004. In 1964, conservatives could only express their fear and frustration by challenging the establishment that was smothering them and by taking over the Republican Party. In 2004, conservatives express their fear and frustration by listening to and calling the radio programs of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and others. These radio programs make conservatives feel that they have a voice, that their concerns are being heard and represented, and that they therefore do not have to do such drastic things as take over the Republican Party.

Thus, talk radio serves as a "safety valve" for the establishment by allowing conservatives to let off steam without really challenging the multinational corporate elite that controls the Republican Party and that is destroying America.

The multinational corporate billionaires control both the Republican and Democrat parties. Their agenda: allowing massive Third World immigration into the United States; keeping America fatally addicted to foreign oil imports in general, and Muslim terrorist oil imports in particular; constantly increasing U.S. foreign aid to all of America's enemies; and, continuing "affirmative action" racial preference programs that obliterate all standards of fairness and merit in American society.

Only by challenging and defeating the multinational corporate elite can we save America from certain self-destruction. This must begin with a takeover of the Republican Party by real conservatives.

In 1964, conservatives proved that they could beat the establishment when they liberated the Republican Party and nominated Goldwater for President.

Goldwater overwhelmingly lost the general election in November 1964 not because he was a conservative, but because he was a terrible candidate.

In 1980, Ronald Reagan would prove that a candidate running as a real conservative could win the Presidency. In fact, Reagan won by a landslide.

But as long as conservatives are not angry, frustrated or desperate enough to mobilize together and take over the Republican Party as they did in 1964 and in 1980, we will continue to get only establishment-approved candidates like George Bush and John Kerry.

Just felt like posting Michael Moore's quotes here on the Democratic party:

Even Michael Moore, a stalwart Kerry supporter, is carping from his Web site (www.michaelmoore.com) about the mismanagement of the Kerry campaign and all of the scandals. "Yes, they caught Kerry asleep on the Swift Boat thing. Yes, they found the frequency in Dan Rather and ran with it. ... If I hear one more person tell me how lousy a candidate Kerry is and how he can't win ... Dammit, of COURSE he's a lousy candidate -- he's a Democrat, for heavens sake! That party is so pathetic, they even lose the elections they win! ... Yes, OF COURSE any of us would have run a better, smarter, kick-ass campaign." http://www.sfexaminer.com/article/index.cfm/i/092404op_antrim

The one who pays the piper calls the tune. We have a Republic choosing those to represent us. But money picks the choices presented to us and those who provide the money is who they represent.

When dinosaurs like you are gone, my generation will be running things. I guess it won't be like the 30's or the 40's, but guess what? The World has changed since then. There was an extremely destructive world war, an extremly intense Cold War...a lot of things.

to say again, you have missed a lot of things since you put your head into the sand. Wake up!!! Realize the world has changed. People TRY. Conservatism these days would be liberal 80 years ago. Womens sufferage? Equal Rights? What?

trying to turn back the clock is EXACTLY what Conservative need to avoid. That doesnt ever work to convince anyone!!!!! Besides which, do you have a time machine? I thought so...you dont. Move ON!!!

Go back to DU...they will love you over there!!!!

Goldwater overwhelmingly lost the general election in November 1964 not because he was a conservative, but because he was a terrible candidate.

Goldwater lost because the 'rats ran a campaign of fear that was even nastier than the one they are running this year.

Ok some of us may give you a pass on some of what you said.
But what you should do is, and it is not easy. assemble a list of what constitues true conservative values.
Some of your thoughts just don't indicate how any generation of conservative differ from another.

If you where to listen to Rush closely over a period of time you would fined he embraces what for most of us represent true conservatism. Sean, is still a pup. O'Riley is hiding something.

At any rate, at least you care about what happens to America. So hang in there.
