They don't call him “Hanoi John” for nothing.

They don't call him “Hanoi John” for nothing.

John Kerry could have won the Medal of Honor for all that A LOT of combat vets care. We ALL have some kind of personal medals for achievement, valor, etc. So What?

It is his BETRAYAL of his fellow veterans POSTWAR that IS the issue, and has him viewed by a large segment of Vietnam Veterans as a traitor; and thereby forever joined at the hip with Hanoi Jane and Hanoi Hannah by his public statements which were tantamount to providing aid and comfort to the enemy. Kerry's statements, and those and his ilk in the "Antiwar" Movement, helped the enemy in their war effort by providing them useful propaganda turned against our troops and POW's.

Remember the "G.I Coffee houses" set up by Kerry's Vietnam Veterans Against The War outside bases; used to recruit and train discontented G.I.'s to desert, commit mutiny, sedation, and sabotage against their comrades-in arms? I do...

Kerry's VVAW was involved in that, and many other heinous acts, against our troops and country they, and their leftist allies; The Students For a Democratic Society, The Progressive Labor Party, Weatherman, etc. Remember them? I do ...

Remember The USS Ranger being sabotaged to point of having to return to port for repairs by a crewman recruited by the VVAW? I do…

Or, the late-night phone calls to the next of kin by these "peace lovers," telling grieving families of our nations fallen they were "GLAD that their loved ones were killed because they were WAR CRIMINALS? I Do…

Remember Shaker Heights, Ohio City Hall leveled by a bomb by a Kerry allied "Peace Activist"? I do...

Kerry painted, and tainted, an ENTIRE generation of our nation's veterans as depraved rapists and baby killing drug addicts forming in the national psyche a vicious, vile, and false perception which help ruin the lives of countless honorable warriors of his generation.

For that he deserves to be damned forever as a modern day Benedict Arnold, and disqualifies him for the job of Commander-In-Chief in this and many veteran's opinions.

As one Vet put it so succinctly recently:

"They don't call him 'Hanoi John' for nothing."

As an astute FReeper put it:

"Benedict Arnold was a REAL war hero... before he was a traitor."

Even if Kerry were a legitimate war hero, it would not counter balance the atrocities he committed when he got home. Hence I used to be in the "who cares about his medals" camp.

However, it looks like Kerry is not a legitimate war hero at all. His whole career has been built on a lie. This speaks to his fundamental character as a human being, and character is very relevant to this election.

After reading Unfit for Command, I could not possibly be more disgusted about the character flaws of John Kerry. Hence I am no longer in the "who cares about the medals, it's what he did back home that matters" camp. They BOTH matter. A lot.

John Kerry is not just somebody conservatives disagree with. He is a disgusting human being.
