I agree. Rather is too far gone to actually even be considered in a contest with Rummy. I never thought I'd see the day people would laugh at Walter Crankcase; Walt being the "national father" of us kids growing up in the '60's with him in our living room every night. But the laughter has started.

I can't imagine Dan Rather wanting to go out the same way. But I guess a liberal just can't help himself. If they can't lie and distort, their life is over. There will probably be a lie on Dan Rathers headstone. I know there will be one on Crankcase's. They plan on putting something like "The Father of Television Journalism" under his name.

Re Cronkite: did you see his POS commentary on the significance of the 1980 US Hockey Team the other night on ESPN2?

He basically pooh-poohed it, limiting it to showing what a bunch of people working together can do and ignoring what it did for our national spirit.

Then he somehow transitioned to today and made a dig about how we have to get along with the rest of the world.

It was embarrassing. Walter's just lucky no one pays attention to him any more anyway.
