Re Cronkite: did you see his POS commentary on the significance of the 1980 US Hockey Team the other night on ESPN2?

He basically pooh-poohed it, limiting it to showing what a bunch of people working together can do and ignoring what it did for our national spirit.

Then he somehow transitioned to today and made a dig about how we have to get along with the rest of the world.

It was embarrassing. Walter's just lucky no one pays attention to him any more anyway.

No, I didn't see The Grand Master Of Anti-Americanism on ESPN2. I would have turned it off if I had stumbled across it during one of my The Male With The Remote moments, but I was out that night.

I grew up in the 1960's loving the man! He made me feel so safe and informed. To grow up and realize everything he ever told me was a liberal lie makes me sick to this day. Walter Cronkite should be in prison - not enjoying the millions he made telling lies to the American public.

Walt is now a lot closer to meeting St. Peter than he is to meeting an American with his point of view, Thank God! Ol' Saint Peter and Walt are going to have a long talk outside the gates. I wonder who will win the argument.

....and ignoring what it did for our national spirit....

I am glad I missed it, I would have been enraged. It was the first event in years where Americans chanted "USA! USA! USA!" We did it with pride and joy. Looking back thru the years, it was the point when we knew the Reagan Revolution had begun.

From that moment on, the nation turned to the man who would lead this country out of the darkness. A man I will forever credit with restoring the broken spirit of this country. The man who said by example never, ever hide your love of country, for we are the greatest nation in the world. President Ronald Reagan.

Which explains why Cronkite will not acknowledge the signifigance of that sweet victory.
