Edward Warburton Bancroft, Born October 19, 1923, passed away today at 18:20 in a Convalescent home in Windsor Locks Connecticut.
"He made Second Class Petty Officer because he was the fastest guy sending and receiving code in his unit while stationed in Adak Alaska."
Race, old buddy, I got to ask or I'll explode,
Did he ever joke that the only reason he was so fast was because it was so cold?
I've always found that the best way to grieve is to laugh through the tears.
I'm so sorry, and my prayers are offered for you and those who loved your father, and were loved by him.
Rest in eternal peace Edward Warburton Bancroft. May you & God watch over your family here on earth during this most trying time. My sincerest condolences Race to you & your family. Your FReeper family will most certainly be praying for your comfort. God bless.
My prayers for you and your family.
Lord,
When a loss takes us through such deep pain, we cannot understand we can only believe. Please help us believe in your mercy and wisdom. Give us your consolation that we may comfort one another in this, our moment of loss. Strengthen us, Lord, and draw us all closer in your love and precious peace.
Amen.
Race, I lost my father fifty years ago. I still love him.
Prayers for your father's soul, and prayers for you and your family.
Watching him, knowing that some times he understood while other times he just was in la-la land, it hurt.
No look of recognition in his eyes, just an animal like stare.
My sister was feeding him tonight, we knew it was coming soon, he started breathing real bad, she held his hand, asked him if he wanted my Mom to be there, and he vigorously nodded yes, so, my Mom came, my brother in law started making phone calls to get us there, but I lived too far away.
When My Mom got there, he held her hand and went quietly soon after, just going away, breathing slower and stopping, within a minute or two after she held his hand.
They asked him to hold on for me, but, he couldn't.
Sorry for your loss Race! Prayers up for your mom and the rest of your family....
Actually, I think it was the Earthquakes, he just dashed when the land shook one way, then dotted on the uptake! :)
God Bless you and your family.
R.I.P.
You won't be forgotten.
May the Lord give you and yours comfort in your time of grief.
My Grandfather had Altzheimers, so I have some idea of what you all must have been through.
Prayers up!
God Bless ya, Race.
(How proud he must have been of you!)
It's my personal belief that death is a doorway into eternal life, a life of peace, love, laughter, an amazing adventure...
I pray for comfort in this season of sorrow, for you and all those who loved and were loved by your Dad.
My prayers are with you and yours, Race.
There you go,
Remember him not as he was in his final hours but as he was in the majority of life.
Remember the good times and pass them on.
Sorry to hear of your loss. My condolences to you and yours.
I'm sorry Race. God bless you and your loved ones. My prayers are with you.
My condolences and prayers are with you and your family.
Oh Race, I know how you feel and I know what you've had to deal with. I lost my mom to that filthy disgusting disease in 1990. Prayers for you and your family.
Howlin, thanks for the ping.
