No I don't think this photo is doctored.... but look at the circumstances of the picture.

You have Alston standing there in his full uniform (BDU's), while the rest of the crew is in a very relaxed state of dress.

To me it looks like the swift boat crew just came back from patrol, saw their friend Alston on the dock and said "hey, let's get a picture Alston."

I've got some suspicions that the picture wasn't taken on a Swift boat. I could be wrong but it just looks a bit too roomy based on other pictures I've seen of the Swifts. Pure speculation on my part: The picture was taken while they were on some sort of utility craft rather than on a Swift.

No I don't think this photo is doctored.... but look at the circumstances of the picture.

To me it looks like the swift boat crew just came back from patrol, saw their friend Alston on the dock and said "hey, let's get a picture Alston."

That is along the lines of what I was thinking about the coincidence of Alston being in that pic.

However this dilemma might get resolved, I hope someone can point me to it. Very interesting.
