Sometimes you have to pay attention to people you disgree with, because often they will demonstrate why they are wrong better than you ever could.
This morning on C-SPAN, Brian Lamb interview retired columnist Jack Germond. The interview is notable only in that it is a distillation of modern American liberalism rarely displayed so openly in the media. But even when it is not on display as blatantly as it was with Germond, you can rest assured its there.
Germond went on at length about his atheism, the decline of political discourse, and how much he disapproves of President Bush. He said that George H. W. Bush (the 41st president) was an empty suit, because he didnt have a vision for America or a direction he wanted to take it. Clinton, he noted, had a definite vision which was doomed by his personal problems and his affair with an intern. The current occupant of the White House he noted smugly doesnt speak English". The fact that whether they like it or hate it, nearly everyone in the world understands exactly what he is saying has escaped Germonds attention. At least George W. Bush knows what the meaning of is is.
READ THE REST AT PASTABAGEL.COM!
And Germond freely gave out his email addy as germond@peoplepc.com
I noticed that this liberal blowhard buffoon was on CSPAN this morning. Couldn't change the channel fast enough. Germond is a cartoon character masquerading as a journalist.
Germond is a nobody!
I know more about politics that this fat piece of crap. The fact that anybody actually considers him a journalist is just blind stupidity. He is a pundit and always has been. It not like he is out there breaking any news. He is just giving his opinions while doing his best Jabba the Hut impression. I'd like to see a book entitled "Fat Man Shuts The H*ll Up!" Retire already you fat windbag.
Outstanding, well-written analysis! Thank you for sharing it.
Spectacularly fat too.
Jack (not)Germane should start working out with President Bush and maybe he would lose some of the fat that is choking his mind (and his a$$)!
Germond obviously is in need of a diaper change.
Isn't "Jabba" Germond the guy that had to be surgically remvoved from a sofa after his skin bonded it? If it wasn't him, we ought to spread that rumor around anyway.
He always was, and it was plain to those of us who understood the game. He's gloating, laughing at us all because he got away with the con for 40 years and was treated regally while he did it. Unless and until conservatives wake up and educate themselves to the real danger (the university-media complex) we're going to lose.
Jack is an atheist? Gee ... and here I have been waiting for him to hear my confession!
Decline of political discourse? Gee ... can't we all just get along?
Disaproves of President Bush? Gee ... why is the U.S. Ghestapo forcing him to pull the lever for GWB?
Bush is an empty suit? Gee ... that sure can't be said about Jack Germond.
Hello ... I'm Jack Germond. I'm retired, but I'm never going to go away. I'm gonna stay around and haunt you all, like my hero, Bill Clinton.
Nice analysis. This review of Germond could apply to about 95 % of mainstream "journalists", IMO.
I'm REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAL tired of hearing this crap. You never heard about a 'problem with the political discourse' when the Conservatives kept their mouths shut and took orders from Fat Teddy and the gang.
Now, when they speak up, there's a problem with political discourse.
Boo-freakin-hoo.
As usual when a person has no credible complaint or criticism then the slams and slurs surface.
Q: If he, at 500 lbs. and Eleanor Clift at 120 lbs. jumped off 50-story building at the same time, who would land first?
A. Who cares?
I know. Cronkite has been doing the same since he retired. Notice how both seem to have a particular hatred for certain people of faith?
I remember this Germond jerk. He was half a reporter. He couldn't even write his own column. He had to team up with another liberal hack, Jules Witcover, and they co-wrote a syndicated waste of trees.
LOL.....I saw him on TV last weekend.....and I told my husband...."I thought he died."
Nothing, and I mean NO THING he says or writes is worth notice.
Regards,
