VP Cheney visited us @ Fox News today (vanity)

Posted on 06/29/2004 9:14:34 PM PDT by sdk7x7

While working at Fox News today, I noticed an increased amount of security. During lunch outside, there were a number of bomb dogs, "undercover" agents with Secret Service lapel pins, and NYPD Emergency Services Units. Turns out that, several hours later, Mr. Cheney decided to drop in for a visit. He had an entourage of about 50 guys, all armed to the teeth. I stood about 5 feet from him at one point, although I didn't get to shake his hand because someone from another direction called his name just as I was about to say hi. I'm not sure exactly what the purpose of the visit was... he did spend about 15 minutes touring the studios though. I also saw him later in the day at the Yankees game on TV, so I guess he was just paying NYC a visit.

(Btw, with regards to the Yankees game... further proof that Boston Sucks)

Since nobody else has responded to your post, and we know it's been read by hundreds, maybe thousands, just thought I'd say, "Cool! Wish I was there."

How tall would you say he is, he looks fairly short on TV.

Does he look better in person, younger, the same? Good skin? Wrinkles?

How did he move, did he seem energetic or did he walk slowly?

He didn't seem too tall... probably about 5'9 or so. He was walking slowly but that's because he was holding his wife's hand, shaking people's hands, and moving with an entourage of about 25 Secret Service agents and aides. He actually looked the same way he looks on TV, but I'm guessing that he spent some time doing an interview, so he may have been made up when I saw him.

Did anyone take pictures? Will Fox post them on their website?
