BLACK REPUBLICANS NOT DEMOCRATS THE MOST DISENFRANCHISED IN 2000 FLORIDA COUNTS

SAN FRANCISCO - In the 200 elections in Florida - all we heard on a regular basis was "disenfranchised"! Over and over again we heard it. We heard Jesse Jackson literally spit it out of his mouth again and again.

In Sunday's San Francisco Chronicle, Greg Palast - who fancies himself an expert on "all bad things about Bush", ran a hit piece claiming that 1.9 million ballots were spoiled by political purposes - to political ends. He refers to the number and percentages of "spoiled ballots" and draws the assumption that democratic black voters were the most "spoiled" ballots in the bunch. He even claims that they were 10 times more likely to have their ballot spoiled than anyone else.

But Dr. John Lott - a leading academic researcher found in more careful statistical analysis that Palast's claims aren't even close to being true.

How dare Dr. Lott expose the DemocRATs' lies about the Florida voting results!! The problem with this study is that it is too scientific and thorough, and will not even be understood by the mainstream press. Not only that, but it is not the result they want!

This would explain in part the sometimes extremely lopsided (and skewed) results that come out of predominately "black" precincts. In all these years, the Americans of African descent don't realize WHO is giving them the shaft? That's right, probably a larger portion of their vote is given to Republican candidates than shows up on the "official" count, because the much higher rate of "spoiled" ballots that just happen to be marked in the Republican column.

This is very interesting indeed! It supports my contention that the shocking success of the Republicans in Georgia last election was much more than it seemed. I'm convinced that the state's switchover to 100% computer voting machines denied the Dems their main tool for manipulating results thus insuring the fair and proper tallying of votes.

Enterprising news sevices were actually able to digitally photograph the posted results at each precint moments after the polls closed. They then tallied and broadcast the results hours before the "official" results were announced. It would have been extremely hard to pull the hanky-panky that some precincts are traditionally noted for here.

Despite all the money spent by the state with the stated goal of preventing another 2000-style debacle and despite the fact that all the changes were administered by the previous democrat regime, the dems are still squealing like stuck pigs because of their losses. Oh, the irony of unintended consequences.

I read the whole article, without poring over Lott's charts or tables overmuch. But his conclusions are, ironically, singularly unconvincing. He says that the only really strong correlation to the number of untallied ballots is occurs when there is a Democrat or, especially, a black Democrat in charge of the election. And that, notwithstanding, he doesn't believe that the Democrats were cheating. Go figure.

OTOH he says that the only time Black Republicans' votes don't get undercounted is when oval optical machines are used. And I guess that is the kind that FL is headed toward?
