Well, shucks! As usual, I'll bring up the rear, so to speak.

I, too, am a Mod, and that should surprise one or two posters who are still here, who might have expected me to ban them, based on some of our earlier exchanges. ;^) I was asked by Lead Moderator so long ago I've forgotten just when it was, and I've been a moderator since then. I think I'm the only one who is still a Sidebar Moderator; guess I'm just not mean enough, eh?

Since I've been with you all since the very beginning I must say for the record: I've not seen anyone banned capriciously, for spite, as an act of vengeance, or for any reason I didn't agree was valid. Most bans come about only after two or more mods have discussed the pros and cons of the matter and come to an agreement. To my knowledge, no one has been banned without the agreement of Jim, if not before the fact, then upon his review.

Thanks, Jim, for allowing me to contribute in this small way to your fine forum.

There may be a couple other very shy mods lurking about, but I think most of them have now outed themselves. I just want to say that I've enjoyed working with all you great guys and gals these past several years and I think you are without a doubt the very best moderators of any forum or bulletin board anywhere on the Net! I'd be proud to go into battle with you guys anytime, anywhere! LOL

All kidding aside, I love the great job you are doing and I know that Free Republic is that much better of a place with you on the job. Can't thank y'all enough!
