Those of us on the science side do tend to heed such instruction. We know we are human and that we err, we try to correct ourselves, we apologize when necessary, and we ask for forgiveness as we can.
It is the worst of the Holy Warriors, those who believe they can do no wrong, that cannot put the past behind them or even accept that they are capable of human error, much less instruction, especially in the ways of the Lord.
We can only help them to see the error of their ways; that good manners, simple politeness, and respect for their fellow man is good for all of us.
"Fairy tales, can come true, it can happen to you, if you're young at heart"
Jimminy Crickets, that may be the most corny thing I have ever posted. But then, I tend to think in song. Another one that pops into my head is
"And here's another clue for you all, the walrus was Paul, look into a glass onion"
I look into my glass onion, and I see that if many of those in the flame wars that overwhelm the real discussion would stand down as I suggested, then those causing problems would stand out like a sore thumb.
And those who stick out like a sore thumb tend to get noticed, albeit perhaps not as they would wish.
