I am going to regret doing this. I just know it.

I *hate* getting involved in the create/evo wars. It is like you all have a circular firing squad, and I am putting myself in the center of it. But here goes.

I think I have some credibility with a few of you. I know that I helped clear up some situations involving Vade and Patrick Henry, including quite a few lengthy discussions with you, Vade.

And Ditto, I don't know if I have much credibility with you or not. I have always appreciated your prayer threads. I think the world needs more prayer, not less.

So maybe, just maybe, all of you (including those who I didn't know enough to put in the To: line here, maybe y'all can ping the others for me) will listen to what I suggest here.

It is very hard to let go of what you perceive as wrongs that occurred in the past. But sometimes, it is the right thing to do. Why don't you do each other a favor, do us moderators a favor, do the forum a favor, and do yourselves a favor. Forget the past with regards to your threads. Let it go. Start fresh. If you think someone has done you wrong, forgive AND forget. Give it a shot, this time. It's not easy. And there will be slip ups. But give it a shot. There are good, constructive, and instructive discussions you all can have, which others can benefit from. But the flame wars get in the way. They don't help either side make their point. I promise you.

Also, if there really are people who are trying to 'get' Alamo-Girl, they can pretty much forget it. It isn't going to happen. She has a reservoir of good will built up, and has shown no inclination to even draw on it, no less deplete it. Hassling her is probably a good way to get in trouble-- unless she is causing trouble which everyone knows she doesn't do.

Seriously, guys (and gals?), think it over and give it a try. Thanks.

How about rescinding these fabricated stalking accustions and allow good posters like ... als - goodseedhomeschool - jesseshurron - medved back --- are we being held resposible for other people's mental problems ?

Well, that's not true; I just read at the Little Place that it was an out and out lie; and I know it's the truth because the very same person who posted that, confirmed the AFers life long dream queston: that FR is, in fact, run soley by and for the RNC. Why would he lie about AG when he's so truthful about the other. :-)

That post is a prime example of why some people are blowing smoke when they accuse you of being strong handed with the nuke button.

You are a great asset to FR, keep up the good work.

Well said. Noble sentiments. I wish that was enough.

Those of us on the science side do tend to heed such instruction. We know we are human and that we err, we try to correct ourselves, we apologize when necessary, and we ask for forgiveness as we can.

It is the worst of the Holy Warriors, those who believe they can do no wrong, that cannot put the past behind them or even accept that they are capable of human error, much less instruction, especially in the ways of the Lord.

We can only help them to see the error of their ways; that good manners, simple politeness, and respect for their fellow man is good for all of us.

Yes. And was that you or one of the other mods who finally cleared up that EsotericLucidity business? That rebounded to my embarrassment. I pretty much swore I'd never go out on a limb over anyone else's banning again no matter what I thought I saw. OK, I squawked a little about JediGirl.

Why don't you do each other a favor, do us moderators a favor, do the forum a favor, and do yourselves a favor. Forget the past with regards to your threads. Let it go. Start fresh.

Actually, the Agreement of the Willing was supposedly going to do that. However, we need to keep trying, so I guess it's time to dust that thing off. Most of the people trying frantically to torpedo it are gone now, anyway.

You and I have never chatted before. Until this thread, I don't recall seeing your name. (I'm confident, however, that as a mod, you've had some experience with mine.) Trust me, you don't want to get mired in the mess that the evolution threads have become. But to bring you up to speed just a little ... do you know about the "Agreement of the Willing" that many of us negotiated? Alamo-Girl was the mediator.

The agreement was drafted in the hope of ending the horrors we'd been experiencing since around June of this year, when a plague of disruptors descended upon the science threads. I won't name names; that would be unproductive. We tried to work it out. It was a long and difficult process. Alamo-Girl was in the middle of the two feuding camps.

The final agreement is posted at the end of my personal profile page. It provides for doing exactly what you suggest. We were going to start with a clean slate, with a set of rules about what was acceptable behavior and what wasn't. Most of the evolution regulars signed on. Many of us have been here for years and we were sickened at what had been happening in our threads. Alas, none of the group that hangs out at DesignedUniverse would sign (well, one did sign, but then withdrew). And our problems continued, and they continue to this day.

So I donno. We've tried. Many of us are still trying. There are lots of good people who hang out in the science threads. We hate what has been happening there. Your suggestion is excellent, but we've been there. I'm willing to try it again, as I'm sure most of us are. But it's not easy. I appreciate your patience.

Thank you so much for your excellent recommendation! I'm all for forgiving and forgetting. You have my support and cooperation in seeking peace.

Thank you also for the kind words and encouragement! Hugs!

The problem is not about wrongs in the past, it is about wrongs in the present. The evolutionists will spam, insult, threaten and bait people with outrageous lies until the thread where they are losing is either pulled to the smokey backroom or pulled all together. Of course, once it gets put in the smokey backroom they behave even worse. That is what happened to the "Scientists Vie to break Junk DNA" thread when Vade Retro at post# 603 made a totally unwarranted, totally viscious attack on exmarine (which was pulled).

I've been willing to post with civility for some time- even to those I've warred with. But, the last time I tried that the next afternoon I got a warning from JimRob that I was in danger of iminent banning. As long as certain people are allowed to call other's "trolls" at will for discussing issues they may not like (such as when I discussed the moral implications of a worldview that does not include God [all morality in such a system would have to be subjective since it is made by human beings and changes from place to place]), or other names, place people on "Virtual Ignore" while still bashing them ("there is nothing more pitiful than a tractionless troll"- PatrickHenry; "SLIME"- PatrickHenry)- and as long as one is permitted to post slanderous accusations misusing Scripture against other people - such a suggestion will not work. It's a nice idea, but the only way things will be put under control is by equal treatment. I've pointed out where the problem areas are. There are many evolutionists, including some who have agressively posted against me on this thread, that I do not lump into this category. In fact, most of the evolutionists I can at least have some hope of carrying on a civil discussion with. That's most. As for A.G., simply posting to her is deemed harassment or stalking - regardless if what you are saying is a personal attack or not. Shoot, one time, AFTER OUR STRONG DISAGREEMENT, Alamo Girl made a comment that I was trying to back her up on. She just kept me on virtual ignore. She was the one who has held on to things to the point that when I posted to her earlier this week, just posted to her (disagreed with her but didn't call names or anything) I got THE WARNING. So, Dales, I wish it could work but I don't have any confidence that it would. I've thought about the suggestion, but will just post as I've always posted and hopefully will remain here. If not, that's the price I'm willing to pay. I'll repeat, unless you all have removed something I've said on this thread (haven't checked) I've never had a post yanked. I'm not an abusive poster - but I do stand up for what I feel is right. That gets me labeled "holier than thou", but so be it. At least I'm not throwing up scripture on every thread calling other Christians "false prophets" and implying how my posting actions have been blameless and without sin.

This definitely bears repeating, Dales. I can't imagine anyone "going after" A-G; it's simply absurd to me.

Thank you so much for your sound and just proposal -- the very model of reason and sanity. I hope we will all embrace it. It is 'way past time for the absurdity to end.

Just saw your post on this thread. I wanted to say that your post helped someone -- it worked for me. Couple of days ago I had a huge fight with my youngest brother, and I've continued to be absolutely livid about what he did. Now I've at least called and left a message on his phone to call me. Thanks for reminding me about "forgive & forget," it's so simple, yet we do "forget" to do it a lot of times. Say a little prayer for me about his response. ( -:
