But God created math teachers so we wouldn't take the world He created for granted. Oh I do agree! God bless you, rintense!

Threads like this return the compliment, in small ways.

This thread has pretty much brought to light, anything that he might have said, or so I assume from what I have seen, so he might as well just forget about it. It won't be all that interesting or new now. His entire reason for writing the expose' is now gone, so hopefully he will give it up.
Although if he actually has worked as hard, as it is claimed, he will probably post it anyway.

Also, if there really are people who are trying to 'get' Alamo-Girl, they can pretty much forget it. It isn't going to happen. She has a reservoir of good will built up, and has shown no inclination to even draw on it, no less deplete it. Hassling her is probably a good way to get in trouble-- unless she is causing trouble which everyone knows she doesn't do. This definitely bears repeating, Dales. I can't imagine anyone "going after" A-G; it's simply absurd to me.
Thank you so much for your sound and just proposal -- the very model of reason and sanity. I hope we will all embrace it. It is 'way past time for the absurdity to end.

It shouldn't, however, make you an "untouchable" around here who can get by with whatever lie (such as accusing ALS of stalking you) she wants to and never be questioned about it.Without betraying information given in confidence (not by Alamo-Girl) there are issues re: stalking that go beyond her, and even beyond FreeRepublic. I'm not even saying this involves ALS, only because this would be saying too much. Suffice to say there may be more involved than you know here (and if you do know, shame on you).

[...because ALS had hatched it as a scheme to "sucker" the evolutionists into hamstringing themselves on the debate threads.] You have just put your foot in your mouth so deeply that I think you will need an operation to get it out. Being civil is 'hamstringing' the evos. That says it all. Not bashing Christianity, is hamstringing the evos, that speaks completely about the evolutionist agenda on the threads also.
Treating others with respect and not attacking religion was STILL IN the final form of the agreement (the one you refused to sign). Care to try again?
ALS's "gotchas" for the evolutionists had to do with the way he set things up so that showing someone they were wrong could be considered a violation.

New Mexico is 37th... but when you consider that we're #1 in DWI, and #50 in education...

I hope Badjoe reconsiders(back to original topic). No point in his carrying this disagreement on and on.Sometimes it's hard to let go ..but sometimes it is best.

[Gore3000:] It was the evolutionists that insisted that an agreement to be civil include the 'right' to insult people! [Ich:] No such claim of any such "right" exists within The Agreement.
[Gore3000:] A lie. It is called the 'troll' provision, the right to call someone a troll and a disruptor at will.
Hardly "at will". As written into the agreement, it was to be used only after a poster had repeatedly violated the agreement and refused to reform even after several other specific steps were taken, including a gentle reminder. It was not there to allow the "right" to "insult people", it was there to provide a mechanism for chronic violators of the civility agreement to be recognized as such and treated accordingly (i.e. ignored).
Under the agreement the only people who could be "insulted" by being labeled a troll or disruptor would be those who were, well, being trolls or disruptors -- and who had refused invitations to stop doing so.
Patrick Henry held up the agreement for days to have it inserted
...because the agreement needed some sort of mechanism to deal with those who purposely refused to abide by it. That mechanism was to 1) ask them to reform, 2) identify them as the disruptors that they were, 3) ignore them.
This proposal passed by a majority vote of the folks who chose to participate in the drafting.
- and thus destroy the agreement from within.
I find it interesting that the clause on how to identify and ignore disruptors was the sticking point for most of the creationists and none of the evolutionists.

Last week we had a lady who killed a guy, had a BAC of 0.4 and was a 3 time DWI loser have a State Senator and State Representative lament the severity of her sentance... 30 days.

I have discovered to never, ever get on a thread where religion is the focus. The end of this thread is a perfect example. Easier said than done. I've already *been* on a lot of threads where religion was not at issue only to have some folks do everything they can to *make* it the focus. Again, this thread is a good example, as are a great number of the science threads (which began with an uncontroversial article on some recent science discovery).
