IMO, McClintock is the only substantial candidate with some knowlege of how to actually keep the ship from sinking.

That may be, but the Captain of California is going to be Arnold. It's written in the stars or something like that. As far as McClintock is concerned, he should offer his expertise to the future Governator of California.

You may very well be correct. I have certainly never claimed otherwise.

But I will continue to oppose him because of his anti-life and anti-liberty political positions. Perhaps I will be nothing but a spot on the road, but maybe will have somehow succeeded in slowing the bandwagon rushing to the left a little anyhow.

Oh, and I will call him the 'Gubernator'...

By the way, my friend, I don't hold out any hopes at all that a Riordon-led policy team will even listen to someone like McClintock on anything.

I have believed since this started that conservatives don't have a single thing to lose by supporting a conservative to the very end here. Under any scenario I can imagine, we lose--unless we unite as a movement and actually win this thing.

If Simon would sideline himself for the good of the team, that is still possible. Not easy by any stretch, but possible.
