It is so funny that you guys do not critisize other distance education colleges like all the ones we see advertised on the net and television. Why this one so much? I cannot believe all the little webpages that say just what you say. That may even be where you heard it. It makes me wonder why they would waste so much time and energy trying to put this little college down so hard. I think thou dost protest too much. Sure raises my eyebrows anyway. I hear some of you making fun of Dr. Hovind's dissertaion but could some of you link a post to yours for our enjoyment? I would like to read some of your works guys.

I would not want to think there are good folks here who are jealous of Dr. Hovind's success or his dedication. Could any of you question his dedication? I guess you might but wow, I envy someone who stands for something and does not let the criticism stop him from doing what he is called to do. If some of you got punched (verbal)the way you do the punching, I wonder how many would give up.
Could I make one observation here please. You all claim to be conservatives and true Americans through and through. Yet, step back and look at what you are doing here. In this wonderful country we all have such freedoms. We can explore ideas and not be dictated to. The evolution idea has been explored by most likly all who come here simply through public education if nothing eles. Why won't some of you try to see what the creationist sees. Why must it always come down to lableing and name calling. I see what one who chooses to accept evolution is saying, I really do and I am trying to learn to respect that. Don't you think in all fairness, some of you might pay me the same respect? YOu don't see me trying to put down where you went to school like you do to Dr. HOvind. He has proven that he can hold his own in many debate with the best of them and I have seen at least 14 of those debates. Each time he was the one who maintained his composure and made so much more sense and a far better arguement than his opponent. So what if you don't like him, that is fine. Some of us do though. I don't care which organization puts who down. I base my opinion on the individual. I don't submit to peers who want to try to make me think their way. I think for myself. You are all very nice people here. I am trying so hard to be fair myself. Let us stick to the main issue here. It's ok if you believe in evolution. I do not. YOu feel that you know what you know and so does the creationist. How can we bridge this gap and to coin a phrase, "get along in this"?

A bit more on this "educational institution" that calls itself Patriot University:

As you review the website of Patriot University, please notice that something always found at the website of any genuine university is conspicuously absent: A list of the faculty and their credentials. It appears that this joint has no faculty.

Also, the address they give for contacting them is the address of the College Heights Baptist Church. Ah, at this part of their website they mention that "our house is on the same property and shares the same mailing address as College Heights Baptist Church—where our offices are located ..."

Hang on a sec. I don't doubt your sincerity but there is a sharp distinction between "making fun of" and "legitimately critiquing" a dissertation. You appear to believe that criticism of Hovind is due to jealousy or fear or some kind of personal vendetta on our part while rejecting out of hand the possibility that Hovind may not be what he claims.

The link I posted previously (a repeat of one that appeared previously on the thread) demonstrates that the document Hovind claims as his dissertation does not meet the criteria of a PhD-quality thesis.

As I said, I'm sure you are sincere in your admiration and respect for the man. Please just remember to bear in mind the fact that in the pursuit of knowledge, one must always be willing to reevaluate one's conceptions when presented with new information. That is true for people on both sides of the debate.

So find out for yourself whether the cirticisms are valid. Talk to people who have written and defended a thesis. Visit your nearest university and read a couple. Then judge for yourself if Hovind's measures up.
