[history]
In an e-mail to her family on Feb. 7, two weeks after her arrival in the Gaza Strip, Rachel Corrie wrote that "no amount of reading, attendance at conferences, documentary viewing . . . could have prepared me for the reality of the situation here."

FYI - The visibility from a bulldozer isn't all that good. I would bet that the operator didn't know that she was there.

I agree. It's almost impossible to believe that the operator knew she was there.

I have no intention of getting a laugh from this girl's death, but remember that she's over there burning our flag with the same people that danced in the street during the 9/11 attacks.
We are still and angry country. This girl was obviously anti-american, and she put her body in front of a bulldozer to protect the home of a probable terrorist. It may seem tasteless to make fun of her, but it's a hell of a lot better than strapping on a bomb and blowing yourself up along with a bunch of people just like her. That's what the people she was protecting would do.

I'm not defending her cause, she was stupid and paid the price. Yes, she was stupid. But the people on this and other threads who are praising and/or justifying her death are also stupid. They are giving ammunition to supporters of her cause.

I see a very faint resemblance here -- I think this girl could have been an ugly cousin of yours. LOL.

That is justice and justice pleases me. If she accidentally fell down an open manhole cover and died, I would not be pleased. Exactly. Don't play in front of bulldozers unless you are willing to get run over without complaint.

I am loath to make light of death, but in this case I'll make an exception.

Rachel Corrie lived a life of misguided compassion followed by her untimely compression.
I'm surprised that the media didn't squash the story.

I didn't call her my hero, if you read my initial comment you'd have seen I referred to her as an ideological dope.
Nice try though.

Disregard most of what I said in my previous post I think your heart is in the right place.
My first inclination was to feel bad for her and her family. I figured she was just young and stupid.
Then I see her burning my flag, and my thoughts turn to anger. She is with us or against us. She made the choice.
Anti-American flag burner dies in foolish display of ignorance. Oh well. I have no pity for anit-American fools.
