take for granted the peace and safety

It's not really that...for these people pacifism is a religion. They follow Gandhi's precepts: that if you simply refuse to engage in war, no matter what, then peace must rule the day and you can find "other ways" to solve your differences.

They have narrow view of human nature and are practically psychotic in their belief that if you refuse to fight, war will end. That surrender and enslavement, and even death, is preferable to fighting for anything.

Well, I love freedom too much for that philosophy. I'd rather go down fighting.

"War is an ugly thing, but it is not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares about more than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made so by the exertions of better men than himself." -- John Stuart Mill

"Where the choice is between only violence and cowardice, I would advise violence." - Gandhi

"I would risk violence a thousand times rather than risk the emasculation of a whole race." - Gandhi

That can only work if everyone involved wants peace. ANd if there is something I know, it's that for some people violence and conflict are just part of their nature. FOr some, violence is the only thing they understand.
