The Design Inference Game

I thought a new thread was a good idea, and here seems to be a good place to put it, so as not to clutter up "News". The only topic available was "heated discussion", though. ;)
If any clarification about the pictures is needed, just say so, and I will try to at least highlight the part that I am interested in for you. Remember that I'm interested in the objects or structures or artifacts being represented, so don't be thrown off if the illustrations seem abstract.
TOPICS: Heated Discussion

401. Clean slate. Update needed, as we're now up to object #10. This thread is, pardon the expression, reaching a climax.

The question now is, who's going to be faster to complete their assigned task - Diamond, or the US military? I'm betting on Diamond, but by a mere whisker ;)

Sorry...... could you pass me the paper towels?

Now we'll have to change the name of this place to the "Yuckky Back Room."

Number 10 is interesting. I can think of several possibilities -- some designed, some not. Devilish.

Waiting and watching. What are you, a cyber-Peeping-Tom?

Sorry for the delay, general. My dear 83 year old mother, ordinarily as sharp as a tack, has been and is seriously ill in ICU for the last three days with double pneumonia. The last time she has been responsive to us was yesterday morning. My brothers and sisters are arriving from other parts of the country to be with her.
I'm at the office today with a broadband connection and I will download the pic and think about it today during the battle of of life. Again, I apologize for the delay.

No need to apologize, given your circumstances. Nobody will blame you a bit for putting our little game on the back-burner at such a time, I am sure - check in whenever you have the time, and feel up to it. In the meantime, if I can be so bold as to speak for everyone, please know that everyone here is hoping and wishing - and praying, where appropriate ;) - for your mother's full and speedy recovery.

Thanks, general for your kind words. While I cope with all this stuff, I would like the back of my mind to work on the problem. Without giving away any historical information, can you give me some indication of the size of the object (is it a magnified picture?) and some of it's physical/chemical properties?
