Until Mexico stops being that poor we'll never be able to slow the immigration. This is completely false. The illegal immigration problem has grown exponentially as we have taken up policies of non-enforcement, handouts and amnesties. This problem is a crime wave created by a govt that will not do it's job.

Well yeah, kind of a no brainer. On one side you've got a country so poor that working 12 hours in a Nike factory for a couple bucks is good, on the other side you've got the people's republic of California that hands out money to anybody that hasn't had a bath in a while. What's gonna happen? Can't blame them for us being suckers. But we're all conservatives here, we don't like ANY welfare program regardless of the color or nationality of the recipient.
Of course the "immigration problem" (tm) predates these programs. The programs also synched up with having a democrat in the White House which is never good for any of our military or near-military organizations (like the Border Patrol).
Guess I'll back up from my position a little, we could slow things down, but the only way to stop it is for Mexico to stop being a country worth leaving. Same thing that stopped the European mass emmigration.
