I know more Mexicans and more about Mexicans that you could ever hope to.You live in Tucson? If so that's not likely.

That's right Fitzy, I live in Tucson, I've got a Mexican restaraunt founded by immigrant 1/10 of a mile from home, I've got Mexican immigrant neighbors, I was steered through college by a Mexican immigrant, and I used to work for a Mexican immigrant. We've got lots of them in Tucson. Nice people, they've got a list of complaints about Mexico that makes FR during Clinton seem down right positive and they thank God every day they got out of that proverty stricken craphole.

NO kidding Fitz...
I not only lived in Phoenix(I lived on the west side thick in "new mexico"), had relatives in Tuscon, but also was involved with another group of hispanic immigrants in Miami. To top it all off my godmother is a Mexican Indian who is now an American citizen. And as the cherry on the top, my mother is a Brit who waited to get PERMISSION to enter and work in this country and has to go through holy hell to get her green card renewed(she has a Brit friend who has to pay 1k for shots and medical reviews to come back in, she is not yet a permanent resident) while hordes of Mexicans come walzing in across the desert. Oh btw, my immigrant mother and godmother have NEVER accepted welfare--NEVER!! I think I'm probably better qualified than "some" to discuss this so can the condecension discostu...Oh forget it, look nobody is saying it's IMMORAL Discostu for people to want a better life for themselves, but it is ILLEGAL in this country to come over without permission and it's a slap in the face to people like my mother and grandmother who took the time and effort to come here legally. I'd be more likely to believe your idea that they too will assimilate, but in today's world of the PC, I believe it's less likely since this new immigrant group is ENCOURAGED to be different and not to assimilate by the various race baiters in our midst. This is a wild card that I think we have not seen anything like before. From what I have noted thus far, the people squeeling the most about give those poor Mexicans a break are the ones employing them illegally or benefiting from their cheap labor. That wouldn't be you now would it?
