Neither! Both are driving the country off the cliff; it's just that the Dimmycraps drive faster.

If you believe that then vote Republican.

10. Libertarians are the only political people that believe that 98% of our citizens are morally good enough and intelligent enough to run their own lives. Basic laws are there to protect us from the other 2%

2%, coincidently, is the percentage that votes Libertarian.

Disclamer: this poster takes no responsibility for the reader making any kind of conclusion from this post. Nor does this poster even mention drugs or imply that drug users are immoral, unintelligent and can't run their own lives without goverment assistance.

Just one of the many reasons NOT to vote Libertarian

While I agree with many of their claimed principles, the party is hypocritical and this party is just not ready for prime time. BTW this is a current libertarian canidate, and no there is nothing wrong with your monitor.. he turned himself blue taking chemicals in preparation for Y2K...

(3) Libertarians ALWAYS attack the Republicans when they should be attacking the DemocRats.

I see few libertarians on the anti-Democrat threads -- I always see libertarians on the anti-Republican threads.

How tall is he? Maybe he was courting the Smurf vote.

I have a second, valid point for conservatives not to vote libertarian: it's dogma among libertarians that a woman has the right to choose to murder her unborn children. That's good enough for me.

Allow me to moderate this [ah hmmmmem]

I once thought Libetarians were for legalizing drugs....actually they are -- but for a very sound reason. The government has no right to make them illegal----same as alcohol- it will take a constitutional amendment - not Congressional acts.

ROFL!

Here are a few reasons to vote Libertarian:

10. So stockholders of Frito-Lay (maker of Doritos) can make some money.

9. Because blue people want their voices heard!

8. Prostitutes are a goldmine of potential voters.

7. So you can smoke weed without fear of arrest.

6. So you can smoke weed without fear of arrest.

5. So you can smoke weed without fear of arrest.

4. So you can go "around the world" with a hooker without fear of arrest.

4. So you can smoke weed without fear of arrest.

3. So you can smoke weed without fear of arrest.

2. So you can smoke weed without fear of arrest.

1. So you'll have a bigger soapbox by which to tell non-Libertarians that they don't know sh** about the Constitution and that the only correct interpretations of the Constitution are done by Libertarians, who alone, above all people, were gifted with superior knowledge and insight as to the "real" intentions of the Founding Fathers.

Ok, I got my asbestos long-johns on, so flame away.

I don't think asbestos long-johns are legal. You'll have to get some Libertarians elected if you want so see this on store shelves. Anyway, in the spirit of being fair and balanced:

One more reason to vote for a Libertarian: You're in a district where Republicans always lose by a 4:1 margin anyway; and the Republicans are running a Democrat.

One more reason to vote against Libertarians: There really are some things you don't want your next door neighbor doing.

All life is a compromise.

Yeah, for you maybe, but not for the vast majority of people like me. Life is also about getting want you want, making sure that specific goals and needs are met. I'd rather take a risk and go for it all than to broker a deal with the results being something I may not like in the end.

I've never encountered any candidate who reflects all my "values" -- but I have found some that reflect most of what I believe in broad terms

Broad terms? You mean like broad Republican terms such as "lower taxes, cutting the size of government, and upholding the Constitution? Tell me Cincy - what Republican has "reflected" these broad values as of lately?

The GOP tends to be on my side of things -- not always, but usually. Thus, I would rather vote for a candidare who is a member of a party that can form a governing majority than stand on "principle" and throw away my vote on a marginal candidate who belongs to a party that will never comprise more than a few percent of any elected body.

Good. Keep voting for that magical majority then. Know what's going to happen? The slow death of this nation, as the Republicans morph into Democrats and the Democrats will be out and out left-wingers.

"This is a no-brainer. VOTE REPUBLICAN. THERE IS TOO MUCH AT STAKE."

This is a no-brainer. THERE IS ALWAYS TOO MUCH AT STAKE. Yet every two years we make the same mistake, and vote the rascals in.

Infinitely repeating the same mistake is a prime definition of political insanity.

11. Libertarians will work to have cocaine, heroin, and all those other liberating drugs in every pot.

(8) Porn, drugs, and street crime would become rampant. Think of NYC and Times Square before Guiliani cleaned it up.

My local high school is like a libertarian zone. The district administration refuses to allow drug busts inside of school.

Kids have told me that about 90% of the kids in the school now use drugs.

Lock anybody up who sells drugs to minors!

You are mistaken.

(1) Libertarian candidates focuse exclusively on the War on Drugs, which doesn't concern many people and also portrays the Libertarians as druggies and hippies.

No. their opponents always paint them that way. Most, check their websites, are running on smaller government and 2A platforms.

(2) A vote for the LP is ALWAYS a vote for the DemocRat.

No. A vote for a Libertarian is a vote for a Libertarian. We take as many from the Dims and we do the Republicans. In some cases, we cost the Dims seats as well.

(3) Libertarians ALWAYS attack the Republicans when they should be attacking the DemocRats.

Bravo Sierra. We go after you Big Government types no matter what the initial after your name is.

(4) Libertarians haven't been elected to squat except to obscure village and town board departments.

More BS. There are quite a few State legislators serving in their respective States. Some 1700 different offices occupied by Libertarians. Even more who espouse a certain little "l" philosophy. Hence the RLC.

(5) Libertarians favor open borders, which means that terrorists can waltz right through.

We also favor policies that would give terrorists no reason to want to attack us and our citizens more firepower to protect themselves better than your Big Brother Homeland Security ever would.

(6) Libertarians offer NO SPECIFICS as to what type of revenue system the government would use if taxes are abolished.

More BS. NRST.

(7) Libertarians are WEAK in foreign policy - they'd coddle all the dictatorships and evil regimes out there with "free trade."

Our current policies are working really well aren't they? (/sarcasm). What better way to under cut a dictator than make him completely dependant on your businesses doing business in their country? Or do you seriously believe our policy with China is a good thing?

(8) Porn, drugs, and street crime would become rampant. Think of NYC and Times Square before Guiliani cleaned it up.

Porn? None of your business what I watch in my home. Drugs? Not hurting you at all. If I crash into you while driving on peyotee, then you can throw me in the slammer for the damage done. If I'm getting baked in my basement, it aint' any of your damn business. As for crime, see the LP's stance on the Second Amendment. It's already proven to work a hell of a lot beter than ANY of the laws Guiliani could have passed.

Is that knocking down of your straw-men making you feel any better? Or were you not serious about getting answers and just wanted to make yourself look under-educated?

By the way, prosecution for slander requires that an identifiable party has been slandered.

The Libertarian party has not yet achieved enough visibilty (nor will it) to be considered "identifiable".
