Ten Reasons to Vote for Libertarians

....even if you don’t like them!

1..Libertarians understand that freedom requires responsibility. Freedom can be denied to those who harm others or the property of others.

2..Libertarians ALWAYS vote against tax increases and ALWAYS vote for freedom.

3..Libertarians understand that freedom and equality go hand in hand. Your freedom to live as you please is given to you by the same authority which gives freedom to the persons who may have different lifestyles. You have to give them their freedom to do that to obtain your freedom.

4..Your freedom is not given by the Constitution. It is given from a higher power. Libertarians understand that the Constitution merely sets it down on paper.

5..Libertarians understand that God is of libertarian spirit. He gave humanity free will. He could have just as easily made humanity incapable of free choice. It is kind of arrogant for government to deny the freedom that God Himself has given. When the Israelites wanted a king, God was offended. Laws by man are petty and inferior.

6..If you are unhappy with both Democrats and Republicans, register your unhappiness with a vote for a Libertarian. If a Libertarian got 30% of the vote, it would scare the pants off of the ruling class. They would become more receptive to reason.

7..Libertarians understand that a good society is built upon hard working individuals doing their best in a responsible way. It seems that the ruling parties think that a good society is built upon government group efforts wherein people work (shirk) together.

8..Libertarians understand that the Bill of Rights is as relevant and crucially important today as it was over 200 years ago. Libertarians even think that our government should start observing it once more.

9..Libertarians realize that freedom has many limitations. The winners of elections do not have the right to lord the will of the majority over the rights of the minorities.

10..Libertarians are the only political people that believe that 98% of our citizens are morally good enough and intelligent enough to run their own lives. Basic laws are there to protect us from the other 2%.

Eight Reasons NOT To Vote Libertarian

(1) Libertarian candidates focuse exclusively on the War on Drugs, which doesn't concern many people and also portrays the Libertarians as druggies and hippies.

(2) A vote for the LP is ALWAYS a vote for the DemocRat.

(3) Libertarians ALWAYS attack the Republicans when they should be attacking the DemocRats.

(4) Libertarians haven't been elected to squat except to obscure village and town board departments.

(5) Libertarians favor open borders, which means that terrorists can waltz right through.

(6) Libertarians offer NO SPECIFICS as to what type of revenue system the government would use if taxes are abolished.

(7) Libertarians are WEAK in foreign policy - they'd coddle all the dictatorships and evil regimes out there with "free trade."

(8) Porn, drugs, and street crime would become rampant. Think of NYC and Times Square before Guiliani cleaned it up.

They also want to give every individual back their full Second Amendment Rights and end the welfare state. They also want to remove us from entangling alliances overseas and cut our troops op-tempo way back.

What would you have to fear after that from people crossing the border? It'd also allow for more civilians working with local law enforcement, ala those Nevada Ranchers on border patrol, to curb crossings that trespass on private property.

Take away a lot of the incentive, and the flood of people coming across the border would thin to the trickle that really WANT to be here.

You've thrown away your vote on a candidate who will never be elected.

Better than throwing it away on a so-called Republican who'll keep the socialist state intact.

Correct, freedom IS given from a higher power than the Constitution. However, The Constitution is NOT necessarily the setting down on paper of what freedom is.

The Constitution may define unalienable rights. The Constitution does define Constitutional rights.

"Which is better than throwing your vote away on a candidate that will be elected but never support your values and principles how?"

Let's face the facts for just a second. Either the Democrats or the Republicans are going to win just about any House, Senate or Presidential race. Now...you are right that the neither those two parties' candidates is likely to fully support your or my values and principles, but which of the two MOST probable winning party candidates will come the closest?

In a tight race or one with national importance, I'd say it's better to get 60% to 70% of what I want, than 60% to 70% of what I don't want while having the moral superiority of voting libertarian. It's not a perfect world.

I'm not a libertarian, but you only throw away your vote when you vote for candidates who do not in any way reflect your principles. Although I have significant problems with libertarians on several issues, at least they are committed to limited government and that is more than I can say for Republicans.

Drugs are already cheap and in some cases free. Libertarians
do not condone drug use but we're not in favor of jackboot federal cops breaking into homes either looking for drugs.

That is my only real split from LibTar philosophy as well. End welfare then immigration will not be a concern.

You hit the nail on the head. If the nanny-state would disappear we wouldn't have an illegal alien problem.

Those that do come here would be productive and create jobs, just like the American dream.

One real good reason not to vote for Libertarians is that they can't get elected! A vote for a Libertarian is a wasted vote! A candidate can't do a damn thing, if that candidate doesn't get elected to the office.

I really wish this thread would get yanked, as it is an attempt by a Liberal Dimocrat infiltrator to divert votes from the Republicans.

Neither! Both are driving the country off the cliff; it's just that the Dimmycraps drive faster.

Libertarians need to vote for Republicans until we control at least 75% of the houses and the presidency. Then we can safely replace the Democrats with Libertarians as the second party. Both Republicans and Libertarians want freedom. We cannot fight each other to a 25% split while the Dimwits hold on to 50%.

Vote Republican on TUESDAY for Libertarianism tomorrow.

1. You've thrown away your vote on a candidate who will never be elected.

That is my only real split from LibTar philosophy as well.

Well then, you better find a philosophy and political party that that represents 100% of what you stand and 100% of what the Constitution stands for or else you are not voting your principles.

Ya know what I mean?
