Ten Reasons to Vote for Libertarians
....even if you dont like them!
1..Libertarians understand that freedom requires responsibility. Freedom can be denied to those who harm others or the property of others.
2..Libertarians ALWAYS vote against tax increases and ALWAYS vote for freedom.
3..Libertarians understand that freedom and equality go hand in hand. Your freedom to live as you please is given to you by the same authority which gives freedom to the persons who may have different lifestyles. You have to give them their freedom to do that to obtain your freedom.
4..Your freedom is not given by the Constitution. It is given from a higher power. Libertarians understand that the Constitution merely sets it down on paper.
5..Libertarians understand that God is of libertarian spirit. He gave humanity free will. He could have just as easily made humanity incapable of free choice. It is kind of arrogant for government to deny the freedom that God Himself has given. When the Israelites wanted a king, God was offended. Laws by man are petty and inferior.
6..If you are unhappy with both Democrats and Republicans, register your unhappiness with a vote for a Libertarian. If a Libertarian got 30% of the vote, it would scare the pants off of the ruling class. They would become more receptive to reason.
7..Libertarians understand that a good society is built upon hard working individuals doing their best in a responsible way. It seems that the ruling parties think that a good society is built upon government group efforts wherein people work (shirk) together.
8..Libertarians understand that the Bill of Rights is as relevant and crucially important today as it was over 200 years ago. Libertarians even think that our government should start observing it once more.
9..Libertarians realize that freedom has many limitations. The winners of elections do not have the right to lord the will of the majority over the rights of the minorities.
10..Libertarians are the only political people that believe that 98% of our citizens are morally good enough and intelligent enough to run their own lives. Basic laws are there to protect us from the other 2%.

I will not flame you, since I am for all intents and purposes very much in agreement with the libertarian creed.
However, until the Libertarian Party manages to get its collective act together and form a coherent nationwide political presence with strong local and state level office holders, voting for their national candidates is pure idiocy and hurts America by weakening the (admittedly imperfect) enemy of the demonrats - the Republican Party.
At the moment, any vote for a libertarian senatorial, representative, or presidential candidate is in essence the same as a republican abstention from voting, and thus pure folly.
Right now it is time to get your priorities straight: get those bloodsucking liberal leftist globalist sonsabitches the hell out of Washington.
Restoring the Republic MUST wait until these enemies of the Constitution are diluted and divested of their stranglehold on power. Constitutional constructionism cannot live to flourish when Democrats reign in the central government. That, at least, should be bloody obvious to anyone.

5{ere's only one reason to vote Libertarian
(1) To help elect a Democrat, while maintaining plausible deniability.
It's a two-party system. You can like that or hate that, but acting as if it isn't the case is either stupid or dishonest.

They want to open up the borders and disband the Border Patrol. That and they want to reduce our military to a national guard and hide our head in the sand when it comes to foreign policy. Personally I agree with most of their domestic agenda, but I would consider myself a libertarian-nationalist. And no, I don't think that is an oxymoron.

Too bad!
And your opinion meant so MUCH to me!

Absolutely correct. An oasis of reason.

I only have one problem with what you said. You didn't put it in LARGE, BOLD LETTERS:
1. You've thrown away your vote on a candidate who will never be elected.
To: headsonpikes
Perhaps he'll share some of his sense of humor with you?
To: Boot Hill
The LP gubernatorial candidate in Illinois was thrown out of his (state legislature) office after 16 years because he was an "alleged" child molester. Of course, if you talk to the Illinois LP and his crossover GOP supporters, they'll tell you it was all a VRWC because Skinner questioned the GOP leadership (although oddly enough, there have dozens of other maverick legislators "questioning" the leadership but no one accuses them of being child molesters).
And guess what Cal "16 years in the same office" Skinner is making his no. #1 campaign issue? Term limits. NOT for him, of course, but those bad ol' Republican leaders...

Libertarians might be a viable party after the New National Socialist (Nazi) party turns this country into a lawless anarchistic PC controlled wasteland, since this current batch of Senate and House Wah-Wah Republicans don't stand on principle but on the polls.
Other than that, it has been proven over and over to be a wasted batch of votes, but more are leaning that direction...

Idiot. Show me one post where a libertarian has advocated giving away free pot for everyone. One more time and I'll hit the abuse button. It is not exactly a well-kept secret libertarians want to legalize drugs. Whether or not they want to make them free to anyone or everyone is not even relevant.

What about the fact that you are in effect voting for a Democrat who will work to make sure we lose the war on terror? If our enemies win you won't be able to debate drug legalization.
To: DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet; Cincinatus
It's disgusting to think that you would say that a person who votes for the candidate they prefer is "throwing away their vote."
Are you saying that only votes for the winner are important? You must LOVE Saddam's electoral system, then. "Look! No wasted votes!"
To: Teacher317
That's what I said above, but of course, no reply.

O.K., then take out the "free' if it makes you happy.
It still leaves YOU as the IDIOT who keeps voting for LOSERS.
